Red Knight

Long has this ordeal been. Many of the knights who sought to serve me were worthy. Many more were smote on the spot. What follows is the chronicles of this recruitment. I have broken down my considerations into several fields of virtue that were desired more than others.

Artistic Acknowledgement: It's one thing to design a knight, and it's another thing to draw a knight. These people didn't just do both for their creation, and well at that, but went out of their way to do other people's entries. That's right. This is to the submitters, not the submissions. Now, that's what I call bringing out the teamwork.

I thought there was going to be more names to throw out there at this point in time, but I guess two weeks notice to the contest's end isn't enough time for some people. What do I know, tho'? I draw garbage in five minutes, and it shows!

  1. Adol: slewed out the lot of them as 3-D models. Spiffy!
  2. Mints: went out of his way to draw all sorts of the entries, a group pic, and tried to make a game with them... which got zero response
  3. Plasma Friend: drew out a lot of the knights, too. Good to get a second opinion

It's Cool but Out of Bounds: These creations were awesome in every way. They'd be completely believable in a Kirby game, in action and appearance. They were really, really cool. ... but they weren't Meta Knights. At least, not in my opinion. Ingenius, original, creative, well thought out, but ultimately not plausibly seen wrecking up the landscape cohesively with Mace and the others. Let's face it, they're supposed to be pushovers and no where near this complex. "Swing ax, step forward, repeat" is more their motive.

  1. Whip Knight (1)
  2. Wood Knight
  3. Razor Knight & the rest of the Kiroscarby Army

Champion of the People: For two months, people were able to say whether they thought entries were on target or off mark. This first acknowledgement comes from an over-time rating of all Knights. By simply saying "Boo", "Meh", or "Yay", the public opinion quickly showed true, and leaders quickly emerged at the head of the pack. Listed are the top ten entries with their average score. It got really crowded really fast.

  1. Whip Knight (2) - 84.2%
  2. Parasol Knight - 84.1%
  3. Scythe Knight (1) - 77.9%
  4. Shock Knight - 76.8%
  5. Skewer - 74.4%
  6. Mortar Knight - 74.0%
  7. Lance Knight - 71.1%
  8. Glide Knight - 69.9%
  9. Knuckles Knight - 69.0%
  10. Steed Knight - 68.6%

Honored Hero of Nomenation: Some entries were acknowledged by fans as being more deserving than others. Actual visitors were asked to go and air what they thought was the best entry. Why should I be the one who has to make the hard decisions? I mean, I still am, in the end, but you folks should be stressed out, too.

So, I've gone ahead and sorted through the nominations that were sent in and picked out the choice ones. You know, they didn't just say, "He is cool and should win." One's that had actual analysis of why victory was deserved. You can find those ballots at this page, Round Knight Nominations. For those who want the Cliff Notes, here's who got the most fan mail.

  1. Wood Knight had the most nominations, and more not included ("Looks the best" is not a proper nomination, folks!)
  2. Whip Knight (2) had the most proper nomination made in its name
  3. Parasol Knight had one of the best (and first) endorsements made

Green Knight

Green Knight's Revenge: Funny story, the original Round Knights of the Table was supposed to use the storyline of Squeaky Bogg, in a satiracal disguise, recruiting an army to war against Meta Knight and end his undeserved, oversweated reign. This has no bearing on anything at all! Anyways,

Anyways, a short pause to air some grievances. Okay, okay. It's far from short. In fact, it was such a bloated mass that I didn't even want to post it on this page. It was far too distracting and, at times, bitter to include here. So, if you want a complete analysis of the contest with no quarter or feelings spared, dig into My Knight Peeves.

The Recruited: The entries have been looked at in ever possible way. With all things considered, the four most deserving knights have been selected to make the faction of Red Knights. They were selected based on their cohesion to established trends, which is how all fan works should be governed. They look the part and serve the roll, never trying to overstep their bounds. You wouldn't look twice if you saw them suddenly running out onto the scene with pitchforks and flails flying.

Red Knights
  1. Lance Knight
  2. Whip Knight (2)
  3. Voulge Knight

You'll probably note that there's only three. To truly combat with the Meta Knights, there should be a final member. Well, I honestly couldn't pick on. I'll admit that these three were each first and lasting impressions. Their appearance was described consice and clean, their actions were fully integratable, and their weapons were weapons. They had no beef about them. So, when trying to get that last piece to the puzzle, I realized there were too many viable contenders. This trio just scraped out ahead of the next layer, but that pool is a hotly contested maelstrom of chaos. Cop out? I think we all know the answer to that.   >_> <_< >_>

That's a Wrap: It's done and over with. There were many entries and a lot of good. Where do things go from here? Making an actual mask-and-blade bearing Meta Knight? ... No. That won't be happening, not any time soon. This pope was so fat, it may be followed by two thin popes. People still use that line of phrasing, right?
