Dan Miyakawa was a musician who worked with Jun Ishikawa on Kirby Super Star. He was employed by HAL Laboratory after college/university, but after work on Super Star, he couldn't get completely used to working in the video game industry, so he left HAL to become a record label producer with Avex Mode, as well as keyboardist for a Dance/Disco DJ known as the Fantastic Plastic Machine.

He currently heads the Dan Miyakawa Ensemble, that released it's first CD, pied-piper, in 2006.
