A fun and cute game that the US missed out on, Kirby's Sparkling Kids is basically an updated version of Kirby's Star Stacker for the Game Boy. Sadly, it was released toward the end of the Super Ninendo's life, and so it was never translated in the US.

The game has bright and cheerful crayon-like graphics reminiscent of Kirby's Dream Land 3, with the addition of a Story Mode and more.

Story

One night, a shining star zips across the sky over Dream Land, and unfortunately is spotted by Dedede, who proceeds to take a cannon and shoot it out of the sky. The star is broken into many forlorn pieces which scatter in all directions. One piece happens to land right on Kirby's head. Mr. Star, as he's called, asks for Kirby's help in getting the rest of his pieces back, and Kirby is happy to oblige.

And so Kirby and Mr. Star, along with Rick, Coo and Kine travel across Dream Land, doing puzzle battles against various foes to retrieve the missing star pieces.

Game Play

The game play is essentially unchanged from that of Kirby's Star Stacker. Several kinds of blocks will fall from the top of the screen, the main ones being star blocks, and tiny versions of Kirby's Animal Friends, Rick, Coo or Kine. The point of the game is to sandwich star blocks between two matching friends, which will cause them all to disappear, and to try and cause chain reactions to get an even higher score.
