Keeby is a yellow version of Kirby who appears as the second player in many games. His name is sometimes romanized as Kiiby.

Games

Keeby is only officially named in Kirby's Dream Course where he can be controlled by the second player in 2 Player Mode. Only the Japanese version of the game gives him a name.

Other games, such as Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land and Kirby Air Ride, also feature differently colored versions of Kirby.

In Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, the yellow and other colored versions of Kirby are actually split from Kirby himself and are not other, preexisting beings.

Appearance

Keeby looks just like Kirby and only differs in coloring. His body is yellow and his shoes are brown. His color scheme can be obtained from the yellow Spray Paint item.

Trivia

Keeby is a tribute to how Shigeru Miyamoto envisioned the character, who thought yellow would be a better choice than pink.

His name comes from a portmanteau of kiiro (キーロ), the Japanese word for yellow and Kirby's name (カービィ, Kaabii).
