Here's a list of a few of the more prominent characters in the series, with links to subsections. It's divided into games and anime, but there are many characters that appear in both. Most of them have separate pages for each version.

Games
Characters that have appeared in any of the Kirby games, both friend and foe.
- Kirby
- The main character of every game and the reason for this site to even exist! Kirby may be small, but he's adorable and very versatile. His ability to inhale and copy enemy's powers to gain a variety of Copy Abilities has been the main selling point of most of his games.
- King Dedede
- The self-declared ruler of Dream Land, King Dedede is a fat blue penguin who's always causing trouble for Kirby- though sometimes he means well. Dedede has been the antagonist in nearly ever game.
- Meta Knight
- Shrouded in mystery, little is known about this caped swordsman. Sometimes he fights with Kirby, and other times against him. What are his secrets?

Allies
- Animal Friends
- A variety of fauna pals that help Kirby by climbing, running, flying and swimming, in addition to giving his Copy Abilities new effects.
- Gooey
- A mysterious blue blob that befriended Kirby. He's said to be a part of the evil Dark Matter- but he's much nicer.
- Ribbon
- This little fairy girl from Ripple Star came to Pop Star to get Kirby's help to save her home.
- Adeleine
- Adeleine joined with Kirby along with Ribbon to battle Dark Matter.
- Waddle Dee (64)
- While most Waddle Dees are Kirby's enemy, this one is nice! He also helps Kirby in his adventures.
- Helpers
- After Kirby gets a Copy Ability, he can magically create a friendly character to help him along.
- Other Friends
- There are many more friendly characters that appear in the games, but most of them have small roles.

Enemies
- Regular enemies
- Normal, weak enemies that Kirby encounters throughout his games. Some of them can be inhaled for a copy ability.
- Mini-bosses
- Slightly stronger enemies that are often fought in the middle of a level, and upon defeat can be inhaled for a copy ability.
- Bosses
- The most powerful enemies fought at the end of levels or worlds, or the end bosses of games. They cannot be inhaled.
- The Meta Knights
- A group of Meta Knight's followers that Kirby battles.
- The Squeaks
- A gang of thieves.

Anime
Kirby of the Stars (Kirby: Right Back at Ya!) had a lot of old faces from the games in addition to new characters. Many of the anime versions are different though, so they get their own pages!
- Kirby (Anime)
- Kirby in the anime is a bit different from the games, but he's still the little pink creampuff we know and love.

Allies
- Fumu (Tiff)
- A young girl who stars along with Kirby. She and her brother are his two best friends, and she helps Kirby out and cares for him. She's the only one who can summon his Warp Star.
- Bun (Tuff)
- Fumu's little brother. He's not too bright and kind of a troublemaker.
- Meta Knight (Anime)
- He's as mysterious as ever, but we learn much more about his past and personality- and he's definitely on Kirby's side in this version.
- Minor characters in the anime
- The people of the village and the rest of Dream Land. There are quite a few, and many of them get major roles in the series.
- Guest characters in the anime
- New faces that show up in a small number of episodes.

Enemies
- King Dedede (Anime)
- Dedede is still out to make Kirby- and the people of Dream Land's lives as miserable as possible, all because he thinks it's fun. Dedede orders fearsome demon beasts from an evil company to send against Kirby.
- Escargon (Escargoon)
- Escargon is an odd purple snail who's Dedede's sidekick and assistant. He helps him along with his schemes, but usually ends up at the receiving end of the king's mallet.
- Nightmare (Anime)
- The main villain who is usually only seen in the shadows. Nightmare was originally the boss in Kirby's Adventure, but here he's bigger and more powerful- and has a massive evil company called Holy Nightmare Co. (or NightMare Enterprises in the dub) that controls most of the universe!
- Customer Service
- The public face of Nightmare's company, this strange shades-wearing person sells demon beasts and more to unsuspecting customers like Dedede.
- Demon beasts
- Called 'monsters' in the dub version, these are creatures Nightmare created in order to sell, and in order to further his conquest of the galaxy. They come in all shapes and sizes, and some of them are enemies you know from the games.
