Kirby & the Amazing Mirror
Big Waddle Dees are nothing to be afraid of, and can be easily disposed of by any regular attack. If Kirby wants to inhale one, he has to inhale long enough to open his mouth wide enough for it to fit, like other larger enemies in the game.

Kirby Squeak Squad
Big Waddle Dees return in Squeak Squad, but are no different than when they appeared in Kirby & the Amazing Mirror.

Anime
In one episode of the anime, many regular Waddle Dees overeat, causing them to grow to huge size. This came before Amazing Mirror was released, but it's possible they were an inspiration.
