One of Kirby's Copy abilities, said to be one of Masahiro Sakurai's favorites! It tends to be the first ability Kirby can copy in the games it appears in, and so has developed a reputation for being a beginner ability.
In Super Star and beyond, Kirby gains a red and orange jester's cap upon copying, and in Super Star only, a special rod form which he fires his beam. In other games, the beam comes directly from his hands.
The hat for beam is identical to Mirror's, except for color.

Kirby's Adventure
Kirby will only turn the usual orange color. He can then fire a medium-range beam from his hands, which will attack anything that comes in contact with it.
Kirby Super Star
The first appearance of the jester cap and the scepter. Beam is updated with new long distance moves in this version, along with Waddle Doo as its helper.
- Beam Whip - The regular attack that is the same as the basic move in Beam's other appearances.
- Cycle Beam - Attacking while dashing causes four spinning lines of blue orbs to twirl rapidly in front of Kirby.
- Beam Machine Gun - Attacking after running and jumping lets Kirby fire rapid blasts of white energy downward at an angle.
- Capture Beam - Hitting Y while near an enemy will cause Kirby to use his scepter to grab an enemy and shoot it away in a blast of energy.
- Wave Beam - Holding Y will let Kirby charge up and then release a huge energy wave,
Kirby Canvas Curse
As with the other abilities in this game, Kirby does not change physically when copying beam. After being tapped, he will fire a beam which will circle his body as he dashes. If the stylus is held down on Kirby, the beam will rotate around him as he floats in place.
Unfortunately the beam moves slowly around him, so it's possible to get damaged before the beam travels around enough to hit the enemy.
Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land
Aside from gaining his signature hat from Kirby Super Star, there is no difference between how it works in Kirby's Adventure.
Kirby & the Amazing Mirror
Beam works the same as in Nightmare in Dream Land.
Kirby Squeak Squad
Before Kirby acquires it's Copy Scroll, beam works the same as it did in Nightmare in Dream Land and Amazing Mirror. After acquiring the scroll, the beam becomes faster and slightly stronger.
In this game, beam has an electricity element applied to it, and when the beam comes in contact with metal floors or water, sparks will travel along it.
