Angel is new, first appearing in the game,
Kirby & The Amazing
Mirror. Kirby shoots love arrows, which may be
why NoA named it Cupid instead... that, and trying to
duck the potential Pokémon-esque mass burnings of Kirby
games that'd come from overly religious types. meh...
wasn't Cupid a god? NoA just stuck their own foot in
their fat mouth on that one.
Similarly, you acquire Angel from an enemy named Annie
(a little orphan, perhaps?), who is called "Cupie" in
the translated version... yuck. They REALLY should have
left the names alone...
Anyway, this is kinda
like U.F.O., only not limited to one area (I THINK).
Angel Kirby can float freely, much like U.F.O. Kirby,
and his attacks can be charged. Depending on how long
you hold the buton, Kirby can shoot one, two, or three
of his love arrows, and I think they get a bit bigger...
or more powerful. I've read different things about it.
The arrow effect simply pierces enemies, and depending
on who (Fallie, Waddle Dee, Waddle Doo), it might look
like Kirby's shot their eye out. Would be interesing if
tougher enemies would fall in love with Kirby and help
him, or fall for another enemy and chase them.... but,
then again, gender is often bypassed in Kirby games, so
who knows WHAT people would say about THAT...
I'm not entirely sure what else it can do. Logically, it
should be able to pierce ropes like Cutter and Sword,
but then again, ropes can BURN, yet Fire and Burning
don't affect them... besides, Kirby might shoot behind
or in front of the rope... but I don't know for sure. It
might actually slice ropes (Wing and Ninja could), and I
just haven't seen that yet.
No, the animé never saw it, but with the rumors that they may
make a sequel to the animé, it could come to the bigger screen
(playing this game on a GameBoy Player notwithstanding). I'd
like to see it, Kirby makes a cute lil' angel. Much better
than Pit and Kid Icarus, because Kirby's ADORABLE and sweet.
Not one for the deadly list, though it actually IS devastating
to pierce an eye. 9/10 for Angel Kirby. He's too cute!
