Rolly the Rolling Turtle

- From Dedede-Daimyo on August 30th, 2008

Yes! It is none other than the infamous Rolling Turtle mini-boss from Kirby's Adventure back on the NES! What? You don't remember him? Well, he was pretty obscure back then, and since he was replaced by Phan-Phan in the GBA remake, not many people will recognize him. Rolling Turtle is tired of being kicked out of the spot light and now decides to team up with Kirby and the rest of his animal helpers. "Peace" "Hiiii"- Kirby and Rolling Turtle (nicknamed "Rolly") pose together as friends for the first time. Rolly's design is based on his NES sprite look, with updated features.

1) Rolly rides on kirby's back (think Dragon Ball- Master Roshi) and is quite the burden to walk around with. Kirby walks slow and laboured, but the advantage is that any enemy that trys to attack him from the rear will be deflected by Rolly's shell.

2) Double-tapping into a dash causes Rolling Turtle to curl up over Kirby and to start doing what he is named for. While rolling, the duo travel faster than all other animal friends on land, and can't be directly injured- but if they hit an enemy or wall, they will rebound and come to a stunned stop.

3) Because Rolly is no light back-pal, Kirby's jumping ability is greatly hindered by his friend. He can barely jump a body's length upwards and can not inflate, however Kirby is protected from above while jumping thanks to the shell.

4) Rolly's not just a land turtle- underwater he shows great prowess as he is able to swim just slower than Kine, though his control is worse.

5) To use Kirby's inhail, Rolly shows off his signature "Throw" ability by tossing kirby a considerable distance forward while inhaling. This helps Kirby inhale things from far away. After Kirby has been thrown, he will retract back to Rolling Turtle as if on a bungee cord, with the food/ enemy still in his mouth.

6) To spit-up/exhale, Kirby releases the star from his mouth and Rolly throws it straight forward.

A) Burning Ability: Rolly contracts his appendages into his shell and spins rapidly with fire spewing from the sides while Kirby tap dances on top. Kirby is vulnerable.

B) Parasol Ability: A parasol pops out of Rolly's top and spins like a helicopter blade. This ability makes up for the pair's poor jumping skills as it allows them to free-fly. Only the parasol causes damage to enemies.

C) Ice Ability: Kirby automatically produces ice cubes from his mouth without having to freeze an enemy first and Rolly throws them.

D) Spark Ability: Kirby produces a Kamehameha-like (again, like Dragon Ball) sphere of electricity from his hands and fires it forward. It's damage is equal to that of a double-star.

E) Bomb Ability: The little turtles that Rolling Turtle throws in Kirby's Adventure make a cameo here as walking/ bouncing explosives that Kirby hurles in front of him.

F) Needle Ability: Spikes protrude from Rolly's shell. Begin with a running/rolling start to become a rolling spike-ball. If used next to a wall, the pair will "walk" down the wall.

G) Clean Ability: With the clean ability, Rolling Turtle impersonates Minogame, a magnificent turtle from Japanese mythology. With his long, fan-like tail feathers, he sweeps the ground around him and Kirby in a circular motion.

H) Stone Ability: Kirby stays normal sized and takes cover, while Rolly transforms into a giant stone turtle, known to Chinese mythology as Ao. His presence takes up nearly half the screen and becomes an obstacle for whatever is in his way. While transformed on the ground, nothing can go past him, and if he transforms in the air, when he hits the ground, he will create a shockwave that destroys anything in contact with the floor, on screen.

I) Fighter/Suplex/Backdrop Ability: This move is taken straight from Kirby's Adventure in which Rolly grabs the enemy and does a spinning flip in the air, finally plowing the victim into the ground below. Kirby aids by supplying centrifugal force.

O_o Finally its over! ...Do you love Rolling Turtle now? If so, then vote, please! Thanks!

Mark the Salamander

- From Black Kirby on August 16th, 2008

Mark is a friendly and joyful one. He has blue and orange scales, two white whiskers on his face, and purple feet. When he comes along with Kirby, he holds him on his back. Whenever Kirby wants to attack, Mark bites the enemy then swallows it. If the ability is Needle, Mark sharpens his fangs and bites down, or if it is Hi-Jump, he puts Kirby in his mouth and jumps.

Monochrome the Tuxedo

- From on August 11th, 2008

He may not be an animal friend, but Kirby's fought parasols and brooms before, hasn't he?

He has the appearance of a tuxedo that would fit Kirby, and the same black and white coloration as one, too. Instead of Kirby riding on him or working in tandom, Kirby wears Monochrome. Monochrome does have a mind of his own, but he's too shy to tell anyone. When Kirby gains an ability, certain abilities give a certain 007-like feel. Here are some examples of abilities:

Bomb: Kirby places a motion sensor bomb on the ground. The weakness of this is that the bomb can hurt Kirby if he moves into it.

Cutter: Kirby throws Monochrome like a boomerang. Monochrome returns this way as well.

Parasol: Kirby wields a parasol like normal on the ground, but when he jumps off of an edge, Monochrome acts as a mobile parachute, letting Kirby fly around.

Ghost: Kirby takes Monochrome off and Monochrome "wraps" himself around a fake, ghostly "Kirby" to distract enemies. Kirby is still regular Kirby, except he is white, like ghost Kirby in water.

Woods the Gecko

- From Kirby9901 on August 10th, 2008

Woods is a green-yellow creature that is usually a theft. Kirby will grab onto Woods's tail. Woods can climb walls and can go through small areas. Using his ability to inhale, he can let Kirby have a break. When eating, Woods changes color due to the enemy he inhaled such as Fire turns him red-orange. Woods changes his style of life by the ability. Woods can only fly when Wing (of course), Jet, Fire, Bomb, and Burning. Woods can inhale Kirby, and then Woods disappears. Kirby is left behind though.

RX-7 the Robot

- From Hammerfan on August 7th, 2008

RX-7's body is a cube. He has stubby, square shaped feet and his arms are nothing but two claws. His single eye is a round white light in the center of the frontal part. He also has a big, rotating gear coming from his back. Kirby rides him by opening his top part and going inside, having his top half outside.

RX-7 can not run, he can only walk, and quite slowly at that, as he actually slides instead of walking. However, when a direction is pressed twice on the ground, RX-7 will use the boosters on his feet to do a short... er... boost... in that direction, even upwards. RX-7 jumps lower than Kirby but he can use said boosters to fly upwards at a constant rate.

He uses several gadgets when Kirby has an ability.

Fire has RX-7 shoot flares from his arms.

Ice makes RX-7 create an ice cube to hurl foward.

Laser is just a bigger, non-reflectable laser.

Cutter makes him throw his now sharpened gear forward, making it slide through the ground and return some time later.

Spark makes him short circuit, hurting Kirby, but also heavily damages all enemies in the screen.

That being said, he can't enter water. Doing so will cause him to short circuit, damaging Kirby and deactivating him, forcing the pink puff to go on his own.

Pincher the Hermit Crab

- From mrgameandpie on July 31st, 2008

Pincher is an orange hermit crab with a yellow shell. Kirby rides on top of the shell, one block high. Pincher's shell protects him from all attacks, but Kirby has no such protection. If an enemy hits Kirby, damage is taken. Kirby's extra height also poses the problem that his inhale does not go all the way down, making some enemies harder to suck up. In the water, Pincher can swim well, and his squirt is a giant pinch with his pincers. A slide attack on land does the same thing.

He is very slow on land and not much faster underwater, making him one of the slowest partners of all. His powers usually have something to do with shooting something out of his shell. Bomb makes his shell like a cannon. If you hold B longer, it goes further. Spark makes lightning strike his shell and electricity shoot out of his shell spikes that point in an upward, diagonal direction.

Slick the Snake

- From Darkstar on July 31st, 2008

Slick is a rusty colered snake. Slick is seen balancing upright with his tail. Slick also has a greenish tint at the tip of his tail.

Kirby rides on his back while riding him. To defeat enemies he can either flick them with his tail or bite them. Biting them will let Kirby gain the ability if the enemy has one.

Once Kirby has gained an ability while riding Slick, Slick will spew it out of his mouth if it is along the lines Fire, Plasma, or Ice. Abillities like Sword, Yo-yo, and Hammer for example aren't very good with Slick. The abillities will have a longer range than normal, and some abillities have certian changes made to them. Rock for example, instead of Kirby turning into stone, Slick will spit out rocks. Abillities like Sword or Hammer however, have a farther range, but have a bit of a delay.

Marsh the Oyster

- From WithAHat on July 31st, 2008

Marsh is a large dark-grey oyster from Float Island. He has no arms, but has a set of feet much like Rick's on the bottom of his shell. His eyes are on the outside of his shell, and are very Coner-like, but with large grey eyebrows. He also has an orange saddle on his back, which can be used to ride on. He is over 80 years old.

Marsh's personality can best be described as a grumpy old man. Despite this, Marsh is very wise, mostly thanks to his age. The few times he talks, it's either to complain about his aches, or share some wisdom. Although he can be cranky, Marsh isn't evil by any means, and he opposes Dark Matter and all the other baddies that try to take over Pop Star. Marsh doesn't really care for any of the other animal friends, but he has a mutual respect for Coo, who is almost as old as he is.

Being an oyster, Marsh's shell can open up extremely wide. When he does so, his large light-grey tongue is revealed. This tongue can to get copy abilities. Rather than simply putting the foes into his mouth, Marsh grabs onto them with his tongue.

Marsh's abilities all center around the pearls he produces. With the fire ability, he can shoot out pearls as fireballs. With the ice ability, he can shoot out freezing pearls. With the spark ability, he can shoot out a series of small pearls like a machine gun. Even with the stone ability, he is able to spit rock pearls into the air, which smash into enemies when they fall back down.

Despite being an oyster, Marsh is not that fast at swimming. In fact, he moves pretty slowly on land too. This is mostly due to his size, which is comparable to a Grizzo's. However, when he hits water, he is able to open up his mouth at a 180 degree angle, forming a "sailboat" of sorts for Kirby to ride on the water's surface. In this form, he is able to move at speeds almost as fast as the Wheel ability, but if he tries to go underwater, he switches back to his regular form, causing him to move at his normal speed again.

(Editor's Comment: Grumpy, old farts FTW!)

Speedy the Shark

- From francoistatay on July 28th, 2008

Speedy appears in water levels as a small, friendly, blue shark. When Kirby rides him, he holds on to Speedy's fin.

As his name applies, Speedy is faster than Kine.

If you had the Sword or Hammer ability, you get two different attacks. The first one is a charging jab, and the second move is a simple spin.

(Editor's Comment: Kine? King of the water? Not by anyone else's account, apparently!)

Kero the Tadpole

- From Mints on July 27th, 2008

Round, blue-green, and morbidly obese, Kero is a highly developed tadpole, sporting two large eyes, two tiny rear legs beneath his pudge, and no visible gills. A small, puckered mouth is set in the middle of his spherical face, sucking up air and water yet far too small for foes. Behind each eye, a similar-sized gland sits, and a tail trails in the rear with dual fins running its length.

Quite the opposite of his idol Kine -- the giant sunfish the size of a hamster -- this tiny tadpole is comparatively large for his kind, nearly matching a typical Dream Lander's size. Despite this fact, he will still carry passengers on his slimy back. So slimy, in fact, that during a top-speed sprint, swim, or jump, his rider slips off and clings on by Kero's wriggling tail! Luckily, this tadpole can't keep moving this fast for long, and Kirby or cargo can resume its normal seat soon.

Kero's legs are new, and he is more at home in the water than on land. Although he isn't as powerful a swimmer as Kine -- matching his prowess only at full speed -- Kero walks on land instead of hopping, albeit slowly. When this tadpole does jump, he leaps -- a full block higher than regular pets and further, too!

Kero can dash, but only for short distances. Unlike others, he can even dash underwater. While this water running lasts longer than on land, it is still only temporary, so you'll still need to bring Kine to get past all of the strong currents.

Since his rider is still exposed to the elements -- namely, Water -- he cannot extend his aquatic expertise to his passengers. Fortunately, any rider incapable of inhaling or otherwise eating beneath the waves can rely on Kero's bubble cannon instead of their own weak water gun! His minuscule mouth can only open enough for one shot at a time, but it flies faster and further than his ally's stream.

Instead of a slide attack, Kero performs a stationary, spinning tail whip. It will knock back enemies and projectiles into other nearby enemies! And Kero need not duck to use it; pressing down and the button in air or underwater will cause Kero to do a full flip with his tail!

Kero's copy abilities generally focus on the sea below and the air above, making up for his otherwise lack of aerial travel. His Burning is a high-angled fireball; Throw sees his foe wrapped in his tail and flung at an arched trajectory. Stone petrifies this poor polliwog, allowing his partner to swing Kero around like a club!

(Editor's Comment: Now that's what I'm talkin' about!)

Billy the Boy

- From MarioKirbyFireballer on July 24th, 2008

This "animal" friend isn't really an animal... unless you consider humans animals! Billy is a 13-year-old human that found his way to Pop Star. He's recently made friends with Kirby, and they've been best buddies since.

Even though he is a human, he differs in some ways so as to look cartoonish. He's about double Kirby's size, if not a little taller. His facial features include big, blue, anime-like eyes; messy, brown hair; and a big grin. His head itself is more circular than normal heads. He also lacks both a nose and fingers. He wears a white t-shirt; green, knee-length shorts; and black-and-white shoes. He also wears a generic, brown backpack which he carries Kirby in.

Because he is human, Billy isn't as affected by terrain as other helpers. He can clear grassy areas with ease. Beaches and snow slightly hinder his movement, but not much. He loses some traction on ice, but not much. In water, he can swim pretty well. Don't expect him to clear large gaps or walls, for he can only jump once.

Despite never being full, Billy can't necessarily inhale enemies, mostly because he can't open his mouth wide enough. Instead, he removes his backpack and lets Kirby do the job. For most of the abilities he gains he wears the hat, but certain abilities, like fire and ice, show up as a pattern on his shirt.

Mostly of Billy's abilities are spins on Kirby's. Whenever he has an ability that Kirby spews from his mouth, Billy uses a flamethrower-like machine. He can either move around and use the machine, or he can stand still and angle it, depending on how hard the attack button is pressed. Abilities with weapons he can wield, too, and because of his height, he has added reached. Most of the weapons he holds in the air except for Hammer, which he has to drag around from its weight. The Jet ability turns his backpack into a jet pack, allowing him to soar through the air. Along with the copy abilities, he can duck, but it's not as low as Kirby's. He can't slide, either. Instead, he has a kick attack.

Just because Billy comes from our world doesn't mean he can't help Kirby save Pop Star!

Sweeper the Broom

- From Awesome Kid on July 21st, 2008

Sweeper is a living broom who can fly. He has a charred wooden pole with straw at the end. His top half is round and Kirby rides on him by facing the front side. Kirby holds him in his hand until he starts to fly, then Kirby will put Sweeper under him self and start to ride on him. Sweeper moves faster then Kirby's run, and can thus fly much faster. He is used in places where speed is needed but you also need to fly. Sweeper uses all the abilities to great use, as he can use them while flying. This lets him use abilities like fire and needle and still fly at a fast speed. Here are what some abilities do:

Fire: Sweeper sets fire and anything he touches burns!

Needle: Sweeper makes a spike out of the front of himself so he can stab enemies.

Clean: This is the only ability that can only be used on the ground. Sweeper acts like a broom, but his range is incredible!

Parasol: Sweeper makes a parasol from his front and uses it like a shield. Kirby can grab it, because you need to hold the attack button to keep the shield on.

Howl the Wolf

- From Lightningbro on July 21st, 2008

Howl is an obvious name for a wolf and he is one of the more "normal" mammal friends that kirby rides as he is on all fours. Howl is a normal wolf with navy blue markings upon his gray fur. With Kirby atop his head, he happily runs speedily around the world, disturbing all of Dark Matter's plans.

Howl is a speedy charactor and thus needs a speedy inhalation. Every time, he howls. After howling and disturbing the enemy's movement he will attack, if a boss, or toss up and gobble up an enemy within a normal inhale's range as a radius.

His abilities, though, are far more defensive such as stone, which they switch to and stay as long as held. He turns himself and Kirby into a mountain range atop his four feet. When in air, if he hits an enemy, he'll just keep tumbling until stopped, or "bye bye".

He can move slowly on the ground, and, if an enemy touches his spiked tail, he swats them. If an enemy "goes for Kirby" he'll howl, summoning a more powerful boulder to have Kirby's attacker go play on the wrong end of "squish".

However uber this sounds, it is because it is a defensive ability that is enhanced by Howl's protectiveness. (Editor's note: In other words, it's uber.)

Spark, however, is a simple howl summoning a lightning bolt to hit Kirby, whom Howl throws forward when he hits something. If Kirby gets too far from Howl in that throw, Howl'll dash from where he was to have Kirby land on his head, then effortlessly dash back.

Howl, so you know is VERY protective. If Howl gets hit, he shakes it off, but if Kirby gets hit, the enemy will wish he was never been born as he's pummeled by rapid howling attacks (bitten, bouldered, or lightning struck rapidly in these abilities) while Kirby is pressed against his cranium. Howl after sets Kirby down and licks him, making sure he's okay.

Howl is not for the slow of heart. He's fast, furious, and out of Dark Matter's league. Dark Matter should have thought twice after messing with Kirby, 'cuz Howl's after a piece of his hide!

Pryce the Manticore

- From Hal Aboratory on July 20th, 2008

Pryce is one of the scariest-looking monsters in Dream Land, but

Pryce has a long, stinging scorpion tail, which can burn enemies with the acid inside when Kirby has the Fire. He also has 3 rows of razor-sharp teeth, which when paired with Ice make all his opponents frozen mincemeat. When paired with Animal, he can maul his oppenents (in a cartoony, Kirby-esque way, of course.)

Kirby rides him like you would a horse, but when Kirby jumps and floats, Pryce is like a hang-glider, and Kirby can hang on for a ride which can mow through any enemies Pryce runs into in the sky. Pryce is a force to be reckoned with, as well as a good friend and a trusting leader.

Sladder the Snake

- From Bazzoka on July 19th, 2008

Sladder is a swamp green snake who seems to be always chuckling to himself. Kirby sits atop him... in the wrong direction? His head looks like his tail and his tail looks like his head, so it looks like he's slithering backwards, but Kirby and Sladder are both facing in the proper direction.

Sladder's movement is faster then Kirby's normal walk and almost equal to his run, but Sladder cannot run... 'cause he has no legs. *hit* Sladder can only move at one pace, that being faster then Kirby's walk.

Sladder's way of get getting an enemy for Kirby is flinging himself out and biting in front of him. If he bites an enemy, he holds onto it. Shortly after, if the enemy hasn't been hit by a different one, the enemy will make a popping noise and turn into a star, which Kirby would suck up.

Once Kirby obtains a copy ability, Sladder is no longer ridden on and follows Kirby if it is an ability that gives Kirby items, like Sword or Hammer. Sladder will be used as the weapon instead. However, if it's not, Kirby will continue to use Sladder as a vehicle.

Some examples are:

Sword- Sladder becomes a sharp blade and sheds his skin as Kirby swings him, the skin hanging in the air. It can act as a shield, but only one can be out at a time.

Needle- Kirby picks up Sladder and throws him, as if he were a spear. He'll come back to you shortly after landing.

Laser- Sladder will release a slow moving beam forward and cannot move. The beam does little damage but can be held for as long as you want. It can only reflect off of one curved surface.

Fire- Will act as a flamethrower in the direction you hold, but can only be aimed in one direction until you reuse the ability. Can move around while ability is active.

Ice- When activated, Sladder will sleep and be frozen solid as Kirby rides on him like a sled.

Tornado- Kirby will throw Sladder ahead as he starts spinning like a drill.

Mags the Gumdrop

- From Zero Prime on July 19th, 2008

Not so much an "Animal" Friend, but she was made from animal bones. I think she's a she, at least. The big bow is a dead give away. She is a gumdrop, rum spice flavor and hence red. She has a wide, round base than narrows to a slightly thinner, flat top. Her skin (?) is covered with sugar crystals because she's extra sweet. There is a wide, pretty golden bow nested upon her top.

Mags tends to be a real drag to whoever she's partnered with, literally. She doesn't do any of the heavy lifting, as she has no arms or other limbs to do anything with, and gets carried around held up above her surrogate's head. This slows speed a bit and limits jumping. Flight is still possible, but drifting turns to a fast sink which requires lots of effort to counter.

There is no inhaling or other intake while carrying the confection. Rather, she is hurtled forward like she was a star, although with a slightly more arched path. After being tossed, she does not return to the thrower, who is now separated from her and must repair with her. Until then, they can move and act as normal.

When toting a supply of Burning, Mags and her buddy blast straight into the air with a long, blazing trail. When packing Stone, she is tossed up as the partner petrifies. When she falls back to them, they burst and take out the surrounding area. When coupled with Bomb, the duo dive to the ground (if off of it) and explode into a small mushroom cloud. If bearing a Parasol, it appears at the top of the stock and stays out like normal, only much higher. It will catch and float Mags when she is thrown.

Terry the Caribou

- From Diddgery on July 15th, 2008

When the terrain turns to snow and Kirby finds he has difficulty moving, he normally turns to one of his flying friends for assistance. But why couldn't he ride a reindeer instead?

Terry is a yellow caribou that is just slightly larger than Chuchu, but makes up for his small stature with his large antlers. Both his antlers and hooves are a darker shade of yellow, nearing orange. He wears a light-blue scarf around his neck that often functions as makeshift reins for whoever may be riding him at the time.

Kirby (or Gooey) climbs onto Terry's back and embarks on a fun ride through the snow. As a caribou, Terry is used to cold weather, so he doesn't lose speed or traction when traversing snow and ice. It should be noted, however, that his performance drops substantially when in a warm and sunny location; he tires out from the intense heat in a matter of moments.

Terry usually moves at a leisurely pace similar to Kirby's own, but when he needs to he can run at a rather quick pace (though not quite as fast as the Wheel ability!). Terry's jump isn't very remarkable when trying to move upwards, but when running he can jump far enough to clear large chasms.

Terry isn't capable of inhaling; to gain copy abilities, he catches enemies in his antlers and chucks them towards his back, where Kirby or Gooey can swallow them.

As his antlers are his primary means of attack, most copy abilities modify them in some way. For example, Needle causes them to sprout sharp points, Sword changes them into long blade-like horns, and Parasol gives them an appearance similar to two round shields.

Elemental abilities change his appearance subtly as his antler attacks take on those properties: Fire gives him a reddish tint, while Ice turns him a cool blue color.

Abilities that charge forward compliment his running speed in different ways: Burning causes his hooves to burst into flame (which has the unfortunate side-effect of melting any snow or ice he may be standing on), and Wheel allows him to gain roller skates to increase his speed (though this does affect traction).

Hango the Panda

- From Albatoonoe on July 14th, 2008

Hango is a fierce, black and white powerhouse. He always stands upright. Even so, he is only about the height of one and a half Kirby's. His colors are pretty typical to a panda, as well.

Unlike other friends, Kirby doesn't ride him, but like helpers, they work in tandem. When Kirby jumps, Hango will throw Kirby into the air. After flight is achieved, Hango jumps on and weighs Kirby down, so Kirby can only glide. When Kirby ducks, Hango will cover him, providing defense. Rather than sucking, Hango will lunge forward and attack. Stars will not be gained from normal enemies and blocks, but when he hits an ability enemy, he will toss it to Kirby.

Being such a powerhouse, Hango creates powerful martial arts abilities, but they are all close range.

When paired with Burning, he will punch the ground in front of kirby, causing an explosion.

With Cutter, he will stand in front of kirby and rapidly slash with his claws.

With Backdrop, he will charge ahead and powerful grappling techniques which damage multiple enemies.

With Tornado, he charges, grabs an enemy, and continues forward, spinning with the enemy.

With Wheel, he does a forward combat roll to damage enemies.

Qwerty the Tiger

- From Trevor on July 13th, 2008

Tigers have been known to be very ferocious in nature. They've also been known to be extra good at hunting, swimming, and eating their young. This does not go with Qwerty. He's a good friend, hates water, and is just a kid, sixteen years old actually! So, when Kirby (or anyone else) rides him, he tends to be a bit on the slow side especially when on an island themed level. On the other hand when he uses Kirby's Beam ability he unleashes a terrifying secret: He has a third eye! When Qwerty opens that third eye, it can emit powerful beams to destroy enemies. Not only that, but he does the same thing when he uses the Spark ability only he's able to charge it up and then send a humongous laser across the screen.

His other abilities are not so good though, even the Sword ability has him swinging his tail around like a maniac, and Kirby might get thrown off. But when this happens, being the loyal friend he is, Qwerty will pick Kirby back up and place him back on his back and they're off. He's especially good against flying, electric, fire, and elusive enemies and bosses.

Swoth the Tarantula

- From KrackoCloud on July 10th, 2008

This hairy spider is quiet, but definitely not shy. His silent, aggressive attitude makes him a powerful friend. Swoth's body is just like a spider's, but a bit more Kirby-friendly (aka cute). Besides that, he has four eyes and a tiny bug mouth. His legs look a bit stumpy, as he is always crouching, ready to jump at a foe.

Kirby rides on top of Swoth's back. When moving, he is sluggish and lazy. Attempting to run will only give a short, quick hop forward before reverting back to walking. He has very floaty jumps, but at the peak of his jump, he'll make a heavy fall straight down, so you need to be over where you want to land. Swoth can also walk on walls, only for a very short amount of time. Kirby's spider friend will stride over water, but can easily drown as well.

With an appetite almost as big as Kirby, Swoth has his fair share of gobbling down enemies. He will pounce forward a short ways, just like any of his kind, and will stop at the first enemy he encounters to swallow it. In the air, this can be especially handy as a second jump.

Swoth manages to change abilities in interesting ways. With spark, he spits out an electric net to stun caught enemies. When Kirby has the tornado ability, Kirby will spin while Swoth is flung around, attached to Kirby with a web string. Kirby won't move, but Swoth greatly increases the attack range. With the throw ability, he will still pounce, just like Throw Kirby would still inhale. When he gets to a foe, he will fling it away. This spider is also a welcome addition to the sleep ability. Just like all sorts of bugs, he has that tendency to stay still for a period of time while Kirby naps on him. But also like a bug, if they take damage, Swoth will flinch, and in a flash, he will try to attack whatever hit them.

Tumbell the Hedgehog

- From LordOfSquad on July 4th, 2008

Kirby will cling to Tumbell's stomach, while Tumbell curls into a ball while moving, allowing him to roll around while protecting Kirby. Tumbell's spines will adapt to Kirby's ability, turning into flames, electricity, or whatever the situation demands.

(Editor's Comment: I wonder what would happen when it got Needle? Super Spines! :P )

Lapris the Sea Turtle

- From Blu on July 4th, 2008

Lapris is a seafoam green turtle with a shiny dark blue shell. She sports a turqouise ribbon and pretty black curled eyelashes. Her eyes are hazel and she is drawn in Kirby's Dreamland 3 style.

Her name comes from three things: Lapras, the Pokemon that carries people on its back; Galapagos, the islands and huge turtle species; and Lapis, the blue stone.

Although she is partly named after the Pokemon Lapras, she looks more like a cross between a sea turtle, Lapras, and Shuckle. Her shell is very bumpy, especially in the middle where it is shaped sort of like a seat. That is where Kirby sits.

She is pitifully slow on land, but is the fastest Animal Friend when traveling on or below water and also has a speedy traction on ice. Lapris can jump twice normally, but the second jump is half as tall as the first. The first jump is as tall as Kirby's normal jump. She is also four times bigger than Kirby. Lapris takes half the normal damage for most attacks, excluding flaming ones, shocking ones, plasma ones, wet ones, or frozen ones. For cold or wet attacks, Lapris takes only a fourth of normal damage. However, when Lapris is attacked with heat, plasma, or electricity, she takes twice the damage that Kirby would take. (Editor's Comment: I forgot, was this a Pokemon or an Animal Friend?)

Lapris comes from the Ice Cream Islands and is a friend of Chuchu's. She is very headstrong and vain, although she can prove to be a veritable tank when she wants to be.

With Ice Ability, she sprays the ground in front of her with ice, freezing it into ice blocks along with any enemies that were in front of her. On top of her head is a hat that looks like Ice Kirby's- in fact, all of Kirby's hats are transferred to the top of her head and replace her bow when they are copied.

With Wing Ability, Lapris' flippers grow green feathers and she can “fly”- that is, she can perform large hops as many times as she likes and can also crush anyone that she lands on.

With Wheel Ability, Lapris gets a Wheelie Rider hat and functions as normal, except for when the Attack Button is used. She then flips onto her side and cartwheels until she runs into a wall or hits a mini-boss.

With Fire Ability, Lapris gains the ability to run (think Super-Spicy Curry) using her flippers as legs, and also to shoot fireballs or long streams of flame.

Tojo the Chicken

- From Leirin on July 1st, 2008

We've gotten enough attitude from those wild animals! Chu Chu was enough, and now there's another?

Tojo is a rowdy chicken, not very well groomed. As a result, his feathers aren't even white. They are a greyish... brown (which is how chickens actually look). Instead of those flabby c***s you see in most chickens, his is very spiked up, but it's all a mess.

When someone rides Tojo, they are on his back (though it's not very comftorable or sanitary!) and he clenches them with his wings up for extra protection.

Unfortunately, this chicken isn't very good on most land, period. His skinny little legs makes running on grassy terrain a slow pain, but he is a bit more steady on dirt roads. He can't really fly, but sometimes when jumping off ledges with him he'll flutter a bit.

Ice land just has this fool slip around like an untrained baby in ice skates! He's most likely to drop Kirby or whoever is riding him if he rides on this kind of ground.

Tojo is very powerful, however, when given Wheel. Sure it might sound goofy and impossible: a chicken turned into a wheel (how does Kirby ride a wheel?), but he becomes very fast and, even when turning over water, will not revert back to normal. His hop ability with it is easy to control how high, too.
