One of Kirby's Copy abilities. Yo-yo turns a child's plaything into a deadly force. It can be swung around with ease in all directions: forward, high, and low. Fancy break dancing maneuvers can also be pulled off while one is equipped with this toy.
When wielding this weapon, Kirby puts on a backwards turned, blue cap that sports an orangish bill. The toy itself is a red color. The yo-yo is not visible on Kirby until it is attacked with.

Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra
Kirby and Gim twirl the yo-yo around at foes. It has a considerable range and can travel unimpeded through walls and obstacles of all kinds. This makes it extra handy when switches need to be reached.
- Yo-Yo Throw - The weapon is tossed forward and quickly reclaimed.
- Break Spin - In a dash, the player spins on his head while kicking outward.
- Up Throw Attack - Pressing up, the toy is hurled overhead in an arc.
- Down Throw Attack - Holding down, a lower sweep is made much the same.
- Hammer Drop - A nearby foe is flung overhead with the yo-yo and smashed into the ground.
- Gazer Drop - With a down-up combo, the yo-yo is planted on the floor as the wielder rockets skyward on the string, performing a dervish of kicks on the way.

Trivia
- A yo-yo-like weapon was used by Philippine hunters, consisting of a rock tied to a string, that could be hurled down at quarry and pulled back up. Still, it was quite different from the toy recognized around the world.
