This page is about regular Waddle Dee enemies and variations in the games. For the anime version, see Waddle Dee (Anime). For the specific Waddle Dee in Kirby 64, see Waddle Dee (64).
Waddle Dee are the most common regular enemy type in Kirby's game series.
They look similar to Kirby himself, with a mostly round shape, and stubby arms and feet. But Waddle Dee have no visible mouth, and their face is always a tan color. (The main part of their body varies, but the most common color is red. They also come in green, yellow, and other colors.
Waddle Dee have no attacks. They basically just walk or run on the ground, sometimes seeming to mind their own business, but other times they seem to try to run into Kirby intentionally. Usually they'll stay out of his way.
For the most part, Waddle Dees are unchanged from game to game. Only in a few cases do they do anything special.

Helper
Parasol Waddle Dee acts as the helper in Kirby Super Star. They are always the red type of Waddle Dee with a tan face, and wield a red and white parasol identical to the one Kirby does. It can use all of the same attacks as Kirby.

Waddle Dee is the first opponent Kirby faces in the tournament.

Waddle Dee appears as an enemy, but also has its only appearance as a playable character in this game. After the game is beaten once with Kirby, the Waddle Dee Ball is unlocked.
The Waddle Dee Ball is weaker than Kirby and much lighter, and cannot use any Copy Abilities. It can at least use the basic dash attack however.

- The boss Paint Roller will sometimes illustrate a single Waddle Dee that will come to life and run away.
- Cart Waddle Dee
- In Kirby Air Ride, some Waddle Dees ride around on the track in little carts.
- Spear Waddle Dee
- Appearing only in Kirby Canvas Curse, these Waddle Dees wield sharp spears they throw at Kirby. It seems to be a reference to the anime series.
