| Type: | Speed Mini-Game |
Star Catcher is a speed game where the player must catch the stars thrown by Kirby to earn extra lives.
This mini-game is the only one of the four to utilize not just more than one side of the stage but all four. It is also the only mini-game that does not involve bouncing a ball.
Kirby flies into the stage and sits himself in a launcher in the center of the screen. From here, he fires out stars and bombs randomly in any direction. The player must move the paddles quickly to catch the stars before they crash into the walls. Missing a star will subtract from the total that the player can collect. Kirby occasionally tosses out bombs as well. If these hit the paddle, the bonus round will end immediately.
A total of thirty stars are thrown out total. For every ten collected, a 1UP is earned. If a perfect score is obtained, a bonus two extra lives will be rewarded, bringing the total to five 1-Ups.
