| English Name: | Star Block |
| Japanese Name: | 星ブロック Hoshi Burokku Star Block |
| First Game: | Kirby's Dream Land |
| Type: | Obstacle |
The Star Block is common obstacle seen in many of the Kirby games. It is an orange box with a border around its outward facing face with a yellow star on it. These can be gotten around any number of ways and are easily destroyed. They can be inhaled, broken with the use of a projectile or air pellet, slid through, hit with a copy ability, water gun, head butt, or crash fall.
Some powers have no effect on Star Blocks. Abilities that affect the entire screen, such as Crash or Mike, have no effect. Tornado bounces off them as though they were walls. However, Missile can plow through them as though it were air and not explode, ending the flight.
Sometimes Star Blocks are joined to a Bomb Block. When it is triggered, the collection of blocks is destroyed.
They also appear in the puzzle games Kirby's Star Stacker and Kirby no Kirakira Kizzu. Here, they make up the standard, non-special block that must be eliminated with the use of Bomb Blocks or Animal Friend Blocks.
In the Halfmoon level of Kirby Super Star's Milky Way Wishes, stars fall from above that form Star Blocks when they land on the ground or an already formed Star Block.
In Kirby's Block Ball, "Star Blocks" are the special half-blocks found at the end of a stage before the boss battle that line the spikes. Also here, the traditional Star Block appears but is named the Score Block and takes several hits to take out.
