Phan Phan replaces Rolling Turtle as a mini-boss in the remake of Kirby's Adventure. It isn't known why the replacement was made.
Phan Phan looks like an elephant with a completely round head and no separate body. It has beady black eyes, a long trunk, floppy ears and only two legs. It has three strands of hair on top of its head.

Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land
Liking Rolling Turtle, Phan Phan can be a challenge to defeat. If Kirby gets too close, Phan Phan uses its trunk to grab him and throw him across the room. Phan Phan will also roll into a ball to move across the ground at high speed. At times, it bounds into the air and tosses down an apple at a 45° angle. It can be inhaled and spit back. Swallowing Phan Phan grants the Throw ability.
Kirby & the Amazing Mirror
Phan Phan returns with the same tactics as before and offers the same ability.
Kirby Super Star Ultra
Phan Phan appears as a mini-boss in Revenge of the King, once in Purple Plants where it replaces Poppy Bros. Sr. and again in The Revenge where its color changes to red. It later appears in The True Arena along with the other mini-bosses that were featured exclusively in Revenge of the King.
The behavior and tactics it displays are relatively unchanged from the previous games. However, when Phan Phan rolls into a wall, it no longer crashes back. Rather, it simply stops rolling. When swallowed, Phan Phan grants the Suplex ability.
