The Sun and Moon are fighting with each other for time in the sky, and their turmoil is causing chaos on Pop Star. Marx informs Kirby that the comet NOVA can stop this by granting any wish once stars from all the surrounding worlds are gathered.
Once all the stars are gathered and NOVA is summoned, Marx pushes Kirby out of the way before the wish can be made and asks to rule over Pop Star. The Sun and Moon put aside their petty conflict and hold back the galactic force long enough for Kirby to decommission it and defeat the deceiver Marx. After peace is restored, the celestial bodies reconcile their dispute.
Game Play
Unlike the rest of the game, Copy Abilities cannot be obtained by simply swallowing a foe. Rather, Deluxe Copy Abilities are scattered throughout the levels that grant the player the ability to select a found power at will any time during play. The obtained abilities can be selected through the pause screen or quickly cycled through with the X button.
Levels
There are seven different worlds to play through and explore for Deluxe Ability Pedestals. While they are arranged in a particular order and draw out a set path to one another, the stars can be sought in any order. Once all seven stars have been collected, NOVA makes an appearance.

Abilities: Cutter, Fighter, Ice - A lush, hearty world well connected with the change of the seasons.
- Aqualiss
- Boss: Fatty Whale
Abilities: Beam, Parasol, Sword - A water world buried under the tide with many flooded passageways.
- Skyhigh
- Boss: Kracko
Abilities: Jet, Wheel, Wing - A cloud filled environment with a labyrinth of doorways.
- Hotbeat
- Boss: Chameleo Arm
Abilities: Fire, Suplex - A fiery inferno coursing with dangerous, scalding lava.
- Cavios
- Boss: Wham Bam Rock
Abilities: Bomb, Hammer, Stone - An underground world teeming with twists, turns, and tough mini-boss battles.
- Mecheye
- Boss: Heavy Lobster
Abilities: Plasma, Yo-yo - A technological world covered with futuristic machinery and robotics.
- Halfmoon
- Boss: Computer Virus
Abilities: Mirror, Ninja - A world split between complete chaos and a starry expanse.
- NOVA
- Boss: Heart of NOVA, Marx
Abilities: None - To stop NOVA from fulfilling Marx' wish, the ancient machine has to be dismantled from the inside with help of the Star Chariot.
