Kracko is one of the boss characters in Kirby's game series where he serves as a standard boss in many of the main platformers as well as the side games, often cameoing or making an appearance in a different form, like in Kirby's Dream Land 3 and Kirby Squeak Squad. In these games, he appears as a painting that comes to life and a robotic duplicate, respectively.

Appearance

Kracko is a large, one-eyed cumulus cloud with twelve spikes along the perimeter of its body. It is mainly pure white with blue and pink highlights on its top and bottom. Its Mini-Kracko and Kracko Jr. forms often have the same characteristics but are smaller or simply a single eye with small orbs spinning around it.

Games

Kirby's Dream Land

The fourth and final standard platform level of the game, Bubbly Clouds, features Kracko as its boss, who generates Waddle Doos to attack Kirby with. Kracko is defeated after six of these hit him back. Kracko mainly attacks by sweeping down to the floor, leaving little room to hide. It attacks with lightning, a beam like attack similar to that used by Waddle Doo only extending off to both sides of its eye.

In Extra Mode, Kracko's movements speed up considerably and take wider, fuller strokes. Rather than Waddles, it deploys bombs to take out Kirby.

Kirby's Adventure

At the top of Grape Garden, there is not only a boss battle but a miniature level. Before Kracko is actually battled, the Kracko Jr. form chases Kirby up a series of cloud platforms. Starmen are provided at the start and periodically through the floors, giving amply opportunity to acquire Hi-Jump to ease in the fleeing. Once a solid, full floor of cloud is touched upon, Kracko fluffs up to its true form and begins battle.

Kracko attacks by swooping down to the floor and raking a bolt of lightning across the ground as it hovers over. Periodically, Starmen are released to return the Hi-Jump ability or to be used as ammunition.

Kirby's Pinball Land

Kracko is one of the four bosses in the game. It is initially fought as Kracko Jr. and does nothing more than drift about, but after it sustains enough damage the full cloud forms and it begins to attack. Kracko floats around the arena and stuns the flippers with lightning. It also sends out flappers to hit Kirby.

Kirby's Dream Course

Kracko appears in the Dream Course not as a boss but an obstacle/enemy. It floats above a single spot and releases bursts of electricity periodically. Anything passing beneath during the storm will be shocked and thrown off course. Also, the cloud core cannot be passed through.

The only way to get past Kracko is with the Spark ability. Once activated, the thunder will no longer have an affect on Kirby. Furthermore, if Kracko is struck with the Spark turned on, it will be destroyed.

In 2 Player Mode, one of the course sets is named after Kracko.

Kirby's Avalanche

The fourteenth challenge in the game, Kracko's level moves very quickly and implements many boulders. Like everyone else in the game, Kracko is given some dialogue between himself and Kirby,

Kracko: KRRR-RACKK!!!! Dance to my deadly music, or fry like a moth! HA HA !!
Kirby: You couldn't hit a barn sized lightning rod, Kracko!

Kirby's Block Ball

Kracko appears at the end of World 7. First, it is battled in the Kracko Jr. form, but after a few hits the cloud manifests around it. In this state, it flies left and right launching bolts of lightning up and down to stun and diminish the top and bottom paddles.

Kirby's Dream Land 2

Kracko, once again, precedes King Dedede as the next to final boss at Cloudy Park. As the next to last foe faced, defeating Kracko once is not good enough. First, Kracko Jr. must be battled. After that, the cloud fully manifests into its true form.

Kracko resumes its standard tactic of sweeping the ground to flush Kirby out. It also shoots out rays of electricity, several in a row all at different angles that can be aimed in any direction. For ammo, it releases Co-Kracko in pairs.

Kirby Super Star

In Spring Breeze, Kracko serves as the leader to the Bubbly Clouds level just as it did in the original game. It also appears as the boss of Skyhigh in Milky Way Wishes.

Kracko is reunited with Waddle Doo, releasing the cyclops as fodder to be used as return fire. It still makes broad sweeps of the ground and returns to blasting the ground with lightning as it roams over the floor. Newly added to Kracko's abilities is dropping down a shower of harsh rain.

Kirby's Dream Land 3

Kracko returns to Cloudy Park as one of several bosses brought back from Kirby's Dream Land 2 by Ado's painting. Only the second form is made, meaning the first form does not need defeated first. It still releases Co-Kracko for Kirby to use against it. Bolts of lightning will either be blasted down on the ground and dragged across the screen or pinpointed on top of Kirby's location in a single shot.

Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble

Kracko appears as the boss of worlds 3 and 6 and is fought using a G Balloon. Kracko moves horizontally, leaving a trail of Gordos in its wake. Once it reaches one side of the arena, it moves closer to the starting platform and floats in the opposite direction. If it reaches the platform, it will KO Kirby with an unavoidable charge attack. It increases its speed as it takes damage.

In world 3, it attacks by shooting eye projectiles that bear a slight resemblance to Kracko Jr.; in world 6, it attacks by firing powerful lightning bolts.

Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land

Kracko behaves just as it did in Kirby's Adventure, having retained its behavior in the remake.

Kirby & the Amazing Mirror

Kracko appears in the game as the boss of Mustard Mountain (the fourth level of the game) and uses Beam attacks, hard rain, lightning, and standard room sweeps in addition to tossing out multiple Flamer, Waddle Doo, and Twister. The beams, rather than pivoting at its eye, are fired in multitude at every angle.

Notably, Kracko moves at a faster rate of speed here than in comparison to its action in past games.

Kirby Canvas Curse

KRACKO MAH BOOOOOOOOOOI

Kirby Super Star Ultra

Kracko behaves just as it did in Kirby Super Star. However, a stronger version appears in the new Revenge of the King sub-game as the boss of Crash Clouds. It is also in The True Arena. Its iris is thinner and red, its pupil is black, its spikes are black and gray, and the cloud itself is colored purple, giving it a new appearance similar to that of a thundercloud.

The stronger version retains all of the attacks that it had previously but now moves much more quickly. It also has a few new abilities; it now moves when dropping hard rain and fires lightning horizontally, vertically, and diagonally while remaining stationary in the middle of the screen.
