How to contribute

From Kirbypedia

There's a lot of stuff in the Kirby universe to cover, so the more people that help out, the better! This page will tell you how you can help out with the site.

Contents

Why can't I sign up or edit anything?

Because those options have been disabled! See, we don't want to have to deal with vandals and people writing stupid things and dumb edit wars. It's nothing but a pain.

So how can I contribute?

By emailing us! We're basically screening everything BEFORE it's on the site, instead of having to clean it up afterwards.

Can I actually sign up though?

People who have contributed lots of good info and articles will be considered for becoming an official member. You'll have your own account and can fix up articles as much as ya want- er, well, within reason.

Sending an Article

Send all submissions to kirbypedia@gmail.com All Kirbypedia members can access it. Always include the name you want to go by!

You do NOT need to know how to write wiki code, but it helps. You can submit your information in regular format, and we'll handle the tricky stuff. But remember, it does help!

There are a few kinds of email subjects you should use (EMAILS WITHOUT THE WORD KIRBYPEDIA IN THE SUBJECT WILL BE DELETED ON SIGHT.)

Kirbypedia- New Article - <page name> - If there's a place, character, item, or whatever, that has no page or no info, you can write it all out. Remember to look at other similar pages that are already finished so you can follow those examples. But don't forget to have some fun with it. You can check Category:Incomplete pages to see a sample of what needs working on, but there are many more unfinished or unstarted articles that aren't listed.

Kirbypeda - Additional info <page name> - If there's something missing from an existing page, send it in!

Kirbypedia - Typos and Errors - <page name> - See an error somewhere? Throw us a line and we'll get right on it. Be specific!

You will be heavily judged on your spelling, grammar, punctuation, and accuracy. If we can't read it, it will just be deleted. If we can't find evidence of what you're saying in a game or something, we'll need you to provide some proof!

Check the Writing Guide if you aren't sure what to do.

We reserve the right to alter anything you send in. You will still be credited of course. On the Staff page we'll also list people who have contributed, but aren't yet full members.

If an article already exists, don't try to completely re-write it. Correcting errors is fine, but we're not completely replacing anything unless you somehow REALLY manage to improve it or say something in a better way.

But I can't write at ALL...

Never fear- you can still help! (Remember the Writing Guide so you do the right format! It's very important.)

You can get us screenshots and images! For example, we have a page for every level in every Kirby game, just about- so we need a good screenshot representing each level! The cleaner the better.

Email them to kirbypedia@gmail.com
