Appearance
Heavy Mole is a cycloptic digging machine equipped with spinning saws on extendable arms that it uses to grind through the earth. Its central body is large and square. Its front portion is rounded, armed with a saw around the edges of its own, with a single eye placed within its center. A pair of propellers on top of it spin to keep it afloat. Two exhaust pipes protrude from its back. A hatch on its rear opens to release missiles that resemble the main unit.

Kirby's Adventure
Heavy Mole is the boss of Yogurt Yard where he is fought underground. The battlefield has forced scrolling, following the machine as it leads Kirby up and down the tunnel it carves through the earth. If Kirby is caught at the edge of the screen, he gets crushed and dies. The earth cleared by Heavy Mole's arms can also be cleared away by any strong copy ability, such as Stone.
Heavy Mole uses little offense against Kirby. Its main threat is carving out a treacherous tunnel to try and trip Kirby up, causing him to be crushed. It never dives at the player and only continuously hovers forward. It alters between rising and lowering in its path increase the chances of catching Kirby in a notch.
The saw arms only are stretched up and down with little lateral movement. Heavy Mole's only means of attack backwards is by firing Dygclops missiles. Inhaling the open eyed, orange variety gives Kirby the Hammer ability. Some of them, however, have closed eyes and are colored red. These instead confer Sleep. In the scrolling terrain, the loss of control likely spells the end of Kirby.

Heavy Mole reappears in the remake to do exactly what he did the first time.
