A boss found in Kirby games. It is the inner compartment and power source of NOVA.

Appearance

Heart of NOVA is a large power cell located within the giant NOVA. It is a large, cavernous chamber with a flashing column in the center. Within this is a flat, spinning heart with two diamonds orbiting. A series of columns surround the middle armed with mobile turrets.

Games

Heart of NOVA is fought in Milky Way Wishes after assembling the surrounding stars' power to summon NOVA. Kirby rides the Star Chariot through the giant machine's outer shell in an attempt to stop the being's attack on Pop Star by eliminating its source of power.

The battle serves as the game's shooter boss battle. The player navigates the chamber as it rotates forward and backward. The heart itself is not attacked but the defense system that surrounds it. There are eight columns armed with eight turrets, some which move. Once all eight are eliminated, the core explodes. The opened track between the columns must be moved between as, if the player is caught against the edge of the screen, they will be crushed.

There are three different turrets within the Heart of NOVA, Dakooga (ダクーガ), パタ (Pata), and Borumu (ボルム).
