One of Kirby's newer Copy abilities, Angel made its debut in Kirby & the Amazing Mirror. It also has the distinction of being one of only two copy abilities to have its name changed in the English versions of the game. (The other being Burning, which was changed to Fireball in early games.) Presumably it was done to avoid religious connotations.

Kirby dons a shining halo and feathery white wings, in addition to wielding a golden bow that shoots heart-shaped arrows.

It is very similar to certain depictions of the Roman God of Love, Cupid, who is often shown as a winged boy with a bow and arrow. His arrows are said to cause people to fall in love, instead of killing them as Kirby's do!

Halos are a religious symbol associated with holy or sacred figures such as angels, and Cupid was never depicted with one, being a Roman god and all.

Kirby & the Amazing Mirror

Angel Kirby is unique in how it allows Kirby to fly without 'puffing up'. Just by hitting the control pad, he can be moved in any direction. His main attack is shooting a single arrow, which can also be aimed with the control pad. By holding the attack button the attack is charged, shooting three arrows instead.

A downside is that aiming can be difficult, as Kirby will gradually fall to the ground if flying in one place.

Kirby Squeak Squad

The ability is improved in this version. Now Kirby will hover in one place instead of falling, making aiming far easier. With the right Copy Scroll, a new attack is added- if the attack button is hit while moving forward, Kirby will shoot three arrows straight ahead without needing to charge.
