Appearance
Combo Cannon consists of a large, metal base with a piston arm and Meta Knight's emblem on the side. A laser cannon sticks out of the front of the base. Situated on top is a large, circular gun with a short barrel and mechanical eye protruding from it.
Games
Kirby Super Star
Combo Cannon appears as a boss in Revenge of Meta Knight, found after returning from the Orange Ocean and before going to the interior. It appears again as a boss within The Arena.
Each part of Combo Cannon is an independent entity. However, the life bar will only drain when the top cannon is attacked. The lower cannon can be destroyed, but this will have no effect on the boss's health.
The lower cannon opens up to charge before releasing a large laser. It can only be fired in one, predetermined path. Panels along the floor lift up to bring the player into its range. A hand on an extending arm delivers bombs to drop down on targets. These can be inhaled to give the Bomb ability. The bombs and hand can be destroyed with an attack. The gripper sometimes arrives empty and attempts to grab the player. This action cannot be defended, and, if snatched, the player is slammed on the deck or placed in the laser's path. A partner can destroy the hand to free the captive before this happens.
The higher cannon swivels to adjust its aim higher and lower, depending on where the target is located. It flips its nozzle off screen to be reloaded after firing. It blasts out one to four massive cannon balls at a time. These cannot be destroyed with attacks but can be inhaled. If swallowed, they offer the Yo-yo ability.
Kirby Super Star Ultra
Combo Cannon returns with minor adjustments to its appearance. Its name is changed to Main Cannon #2 to better reflect its original Japanese name. The cannon balls that it fires no longer give the Yo-yo ability when swallowed; they instead give the Bomb ability. It does not appear in any of the new Arena sub-games.
