Candy
From Kirbypedia
| |
| English Name: | Candy |
| Japanese Name: | 無敵キャンディー Muteki Kyandii Invincible Candy |
| First Game: | Kirby's Dream Land |
| Type: | Power Up |
Also known as "Invincibility Candy", this lollipop is much more than it seems. A delicious light colored confection with a red swirl and a tiny candy star, if Kirby eats one of these he'll be overcome by a sugar rush- making him move faster and become completely invulnerable!
Games
Kirby can plow right through enemies and all obstacles for a short amount of time after eating one, while the signature Invincibility theme music plays. Not even bosses are immune- though it's very, very rare to have any Candy around when fighting one.
In Kirby Super Star, the effect can be shared with a Helper, just as other food items are. This is also true in games with multiplayer like Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land and Kirby & the Amazing Mirror.
Curiously, in Kirby's Adventure, Kirby only finds these items when they're tossed to him by Meta Knight, who then quickly runs away.
In Kirby's Block Ball, while the treat does not make Kirby invincible, it still appears. Here, its function is only to award 1500 points.
Trivia
- To date, the only Kirby platformer to not feature Candy is Kirby's Dream Land 2.
- In Kirby's Dream Land, while invincible, even Shotzo can be destroyed if the player stands upon it for a few seconds.
