A regular enemy in the Kirby games.

Bronto Burt is one of the most commonly seen enemies in the Kirby series, appearing in every game, though unlike most common characters from the games, he never appeared in the anime.

Bronto Burt is a pink, round fellow with little yellow feet, and two pairs of insect-like wings. He has big eyes with thick eyebrows, giving it an angry look, and a tiny mouth.

Kirby's Dream Land

Bronto Burt has a variety of flight patterns. It can drop down from the sky and dash at Kirby or wait for him on the ground. Otherwise, it soars through the air in a wavering or straight line, bouncing off of walls.

It is replaced in Extra Game by Koozer.

Kirby's Dream Course

Bronto Burt appeared in a helpful role where it returns Kirby to the field if he goes out of bounds. It carries him in on a trapeze bar.

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards

Bronto Burt is Enemy Info Card #12. If Kirby holds one above his head, the enemy lifts him up for a short while allowing Kirby to fly before coming back down. However, Kirby cannot change directions in midair. Additionally, when thrown, a Bronto Burt will fly upward instead of downward arching trajectory.

Bronto Burt has returned in several other titles. It never offers a copy ability and follows the same, basic flight patterns as its first appearance.

Trivia

  • Its name is not clearly explained. Bronto is from a Greek word meaning "thunder", but Bronto Burt has nothing to do with electricity. The name is apparently meaningless.
  • The trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl of this character refers to it as a bird. It is taken as a translation error.
