Bonkers is a common Mini-boss and Helper in the Kirby game series.
Bonkers is a large humanoid ape, roughly twice the size of Kirby. It wears a purple (or sometimes green) armor-like shirt and hat. It always wields a hammer on its back, which is its main attack method. Bonkers also throws exploding coconuts.

Games
Kirby's Adventure
Bonkers makes rare appearances in levels as a mini-boss, and is the only enemy that gives the Hammer ability.
Bonkers charges at Kirby with his giant hammer, slamming it down when Kirby is directly in front of him. This produces a star, which Kirby can inhale and spew back at Bonkers. Afterward, Bonkers tosses out a coconut-shaped bomb toward Kirby, followed by three large jumps. Kirby can inhale and spit the bomb back at Bonkers as well.
Oddly enough, Bonkers looks more like a human than an ape in this version.
Bonkers was also featured as the fourth opponent in the Quick Draw mini-game. Its hat is a sailor captain style with an anchor on the front.
Kirby Super Star
Bonkers returns as a mini-boss. Its attack pattern is the same as it was in Adventure.
Bonkers also is the Helper for the Hammer ability. As Kirby's ally, its clothes are purple, as opposed to the green armor of the mini-boss. It can use most of the attacks Kirby uses, except for Kirby's Hammer Toss. It stands at the same height as the mini-boss version, roughly twice the size of Kirby and most other helpers.
Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land
Bonkers' behavior is identical to that seen in Adventure. Its design is changed from KSS in that it's given pointed ears and seems to have fur, giving it an even more gorilla-like appearance.
Kirby & the Amazing Mirror
Bonkers reappears as a mini-boss, identical to its appearances in Adventure and Nightmare.
Kirby Wii
Not much is known about this title. However, Bonkers was shown in early screenshots and video, confirming its return.
