One of Kirby's Copy abilities, and perhaps the simplest of them all. Kirby loses his arms and legs to achieve maximum roundness. He can roll around and bounce like, well, a ball!

Though it has only appeared as an official Copy Ability in two games, Kirby has assumed his ball form in many others. Kirby's Pinball Land, Kirby's Dream Course, Kirby's Block Ball and Kirby Canvas Curse all run off the idea of Kirby being a ball to be pushed around by paddles and magical paintbrushes. (However, the true Copy Ability isn't used.)

Kirby's Adventure

Kirby can walk around as normal, but hitting the attack button will transform him into a ball. Using the control pad and the attack button, Kirby will bounce around the screen to hit enemies. It can be a tricky ability to use, and works best in confined spaces.

Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land

In this remake, Kirby gains a little red and blue hat when not in ball form. In addition, the mechanics of the ability are altered somewhat. Originally, when hitting the top of the screen Kirby would hover just off-screen for a moment before coming back down. In this game, Kirby will bounce right off the top just like any other wall.

Notes

Ball Kirby appears as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
