DarkMatterSwordsman.JPG
Dark Matter Swordsman2244 viewsThe first form of Dark Matter. If Kirby has collected all of the Rainbow Drops scattered throughout the islands of Kirby's Dreamland 2, Dark Matter will escape to the sky from the defeated King Dedede. Combining the Drops into the flying Rainbow Sword, Kirby will ascend to the sky himself, to do battle with the dark menace. Dark Matter can slash with his sword, but he also fires off dark orb projectiles, which Kirby can reflect back at the Swordsman for an effective counter attack. One would wonder exactly why Dark Matter goes through the trouble of dressing up in such attire and why does he use a sword to fight Kirby? It all seems pretty unnatural for this supernatural being. Perhaps, like Meta Knight, Dark Matter at first wishes to challenge the pink one to a fair duel, but upon losing, shows his true colors...11 commentsDedede-Daimyo
Poppy_Bro__Jr_.JPG
Poppy Bros. Jr.2242 viewsHere is the Junior member of the Poppy brotherhood. You can tell he is a bad guy and not a helper by the color of his clothes. Poppy Jr. started out in KDL as a regular who pranced around, often on top of spherical objects. It was only in KSS where they began to throw bombs like their older siblings. Their happy faces and clownish antics ingrain them as classic Kirby characters. They have a large array of relatives, including Poppy Bros. Sr., Boomber, and Perot.9 commentsDedede-Daimyo
Ado.JPG
Ado2227 viewsThe boss of Cloudy Park in KDL3; Ado is a master painter who can bring a picture to life, right off the cloud-canvas! In the art-battle, Ado will paint a simplified form of one of KDL2's bosses in this order: Ice Dragon, Sweet Stuff, Mr. Shine & Mr. Bright, and Kracko. Each one is only a fraction as hard as it's real world self; all four of the bosses can be dealt with fairly quickly. Finally, Ado jumps out from hiding, and begins to run around the stage, swiping at Kirby with a brush as a last resort attack. Contact is all that is needed at this point to sent the painter flying. Ado is either a 'relative' of Adeleine, from Kirby 64, or they are the same person.
>XionGaTaosenai mentioned in 'Gurus that Ado might be based off of a Chinese legend, which got my gears a-turnin'. I could not recall a single painter of Ado's magnitude in Chinese mythology, however, there is a very famous group of Taoist sages called The Eight Immortals, of which I am very familiar with. (Here's a story! Gather 'round, kiddies!) ~The leader of the eight, Lu Tung-Pin, was alone at a tavern late one night, drinking much rice-wine, and living-up the moment, like we all wish to be. The tavern's owner was growing suspicious of Lu, since he had been there all night, and consumed much of the best, and most expensive, stuff the establishment had to offer; and that he showed no signs of stopping, or paying! When confronted about the bill, Lu simply said that he had no money to pay his tab. At this, the owner nearly flew into an outrage, but Lu stood up and walked over to the plain wall of the tavern. The bar-tender watched on as in only a few minutes, Lu was able to paint a large and incredibly realistic looking crane on the tavern's wall. Lu then explained to the owner that people will come from far and wide to view the beautiful bird on his wall, and the increased business will repay his extensive bill. Apprehensive at first, the tavern's owner agreed to this and Lu was free to go. By the next day, the tavern was filled with people who had come to gaze at the painted crane, and purchase a drink or two at the bar. In no time, the bill Lu had accumulated that night was paid off, and the tavern now had regular customers. Suddenly, the realistic crane painting flashed, and off the bird came from the wall. The Lu's crane flew away, yet the bar had continued to generate good profit. ~Coincidentally, another of The Eight Immortals, Lan Tsai-Ho, had an ambiguous gender. No one could tell if he was male or female, from the way he dressed and wore his hair. He was a young boy/ girl who liked to sing and dance. ~Further delving into this recalls the 'historical' eight immortals of China, who were an actual group of painters and poets revered for their artistic and literary superiority. Chinese Guru-man, out :)

Fire_Lion.JPG
Fire Lion2226 viewsI am particularly proud of how this sculpture turned out. Fire Lion is one badass miniboss- able to leap into the air and pounce on Kirby, grab him and scratch his face off, and blaze across the stage in a firey tackle; and that is just what he'll do on a good day! He strikes terror into the hearts of Dreamlanders with his ferocious jaws and mane of flame. Nevertheless, he will still look foolish if he misses his prey, and falls flat on his face. It is no wonder he was able to capture the great Kinderspirit...9 commentsDedede-Daimyo
Kirby_s_Friends-_Miniboss_Tower-_Boss_Butch.jpg
Kirby's Friends / Miniboss Tower / Boss Butch2226 viewsA vertical triptych of photographs. First is an arrangement of sculptures parodying the famous title screen pic of Kirby's Dreamland 3, also seen on Kindar's humongous front-page post. Second is a literal tower of Mini/Mid/Sub Bosses: 3 on the left appear only (in this series) in KDL2, 3 on the right appear only in KDL3, and 3 in the center appear in both games. Third and finally is the ever-present boss-battle montage pic. Much like the series finally 'Photo Shoot', except now Dedede gets his turn at the 'camera'. Thanks, everyone, for viewing my effort-full Kirby clay sculptures! As the staff-roll of Kirby's Super Star says, “And More~!” Look for much more of my artwork here in the future :)3 commentsDedede-Daimyo
Waddle_Dee_Army.jpg
Waddle Dee Army2223 viewsThis rag-tag bunch of baddies is always ready to aid King Dedede in a Brawl. The slaves are used in both Dedede's side-special, “Waddle Dee Throw”, and more importantly, in his Final Smash, “Waddle Dee Army”. The titular Waddle Dee is the most common on the trio. He diligently performs his lowly duty, slowly teetering along the path, occasionally hopping in a futile effort to damage the King's opposers. This is, of course, after Dedede recklessly hurls him from the sleeve of his robe, into the face of the enemy. Next is the cooler, stronger, monocular member, known to fans as Waddle Doo. He is somewhat more competent than his common cousin, as he can fire a beam whip from his one eye. Up to three spurts can be unleashed to electrify the enemy before Doo disappears from the battlefield. Finally is the prickly, powerful Gordo. The sight of this black beast (if you can even see it coming, it moves so fast!) is enough to bring even the highest of tiers to tears. Get one of these stuck in your butt, and get ready for a quick flight off-stage. Aaaaannnnd... were done~!2 commentsDedede-Daimyo
Smash_Dedede.jpg
Smash Dedede2217 viewsYou can imagine how excited I was when I first heard that the Great King Dedede was a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl! The developers treated him well in his first main-stream playable appearance. For special attacks, Dedede can: Inhale and spit out- No copying of powers, but rather taken directly from the Kirby series; throw Waddle Dees- perhaps taken from the anime, or at least Squeak Squad, where he had one attack that summons them; the Super Dedede Jump- also taken from his games/ boss battles; and the Jet Hammer- which I believe is a fusion on the Jet Ability in KSS (you charge it up and release to attack) and the Hammer Ability super-swing from the same game. I thought it was especially cool to be able to play as him in the side-scrolling Subspace Emmissary (something I desperately wish they'd add in a Kirby Game, instead of the unimaginative Meta Knight speed-run) but, due to the game's battle system and character traits, he feels overly slow and weighty, and attacks like Inhale don't live up to their potential. Anyway, Dedede's wardrobe has been upgraded a bit for his debut in Brawl. Detail has been added to his hammer and fur, as well as a different Mon on the back of the robe. Also added is a Kimono-like undergarment, reminiscent of his cream-colored stomach in past games, and the almighty style of Samurai Kirby, whaha. Next time in the Daimyo Dojo: Dedede's Final Smash! Not as spectacular as you might think...4 commentsDedede-Daimyo
Bugzzy.JPG
Bugzzy2175 viewsMy favorite helper and all-around great grappler, the big-bug himself, Buggzy! This miniboss can backdrop and suplex like nobody's business. He is a stag-beetle that uses his mandables like a pair of forklift tongs. He can lunge forward at greaf speed, hover in the air with his wings, and even give birth to mini-beetles that act as homing missiles to the enemy. Long live Bugzzy. >> Sorry, I have failed you KRR. Only two sculpture updates this week? Reallife has been a monster this week. Much more next week, I assure you ;>9 commentsDedede-Daimyo
Ax_Knight.JPG
Ax Knight2163 viewsThis week: The Meta-Knights! First up is Ax Knight, the skull faced first-in-command, who uses a large battle-ax as a weapon. He wears a viking's helmet adorned with spikes and two large bull-horns. His battle tactics consist of pacing back and forth, trying to hack at any near opponent with his ax. When he encounters someone, he can deliver a powerful single chop, or a series of rapid slashes. He was featured prominantly in The Revenge of Meta Knight cut scenes. Look for him as a helper in KCCh!6 commentsDedede-Daimyo
Kracko.JPG
Kracko2159 viewsThe classic cloud boss, Kracko, in all his iconic glory! He is a staple in the Kirby series, being featured in some form in the majority of the games. He is one of Dedede's most trusted underlings, though his appearence is more god-like than what he is worth. Kirby often has to deal with Kracko's first form (or sibling??) Kracko Jr. as a miniboss, before he gets to the BMOC (Big Monster on Clouds) himself. He can shoot lightning, create a down-pour, release a beam, tackel Kirby, and spawn minions; though he is not too tough to beat- corners are his weakness! I modeled him more after his 2D appearence, rather than the bulbus, multi-sphered trophy seen in SSBB.4 commentsDedede-Daimyo
RealDarkMatter.JPG
Real Dark Matter2148 viewsThe second form of KDL2's final boss; Dark Matter also appears in KDL3 and K64. After shedding his samurai cloak and armor, DM reviles his true self to Kirby as they duke it out in space. In both of the times he is battled, DM shoots black lightning out of his eye and lets loose the orange/purple orbs from his back which home-in on Kirby. The Rainbow Sword can reflect these orbs back at DM in DL2. However, in DL3, Kirby gains the superior Love-Love Stick, composed of all the heart-stars gained throughout the game, and used that to delete Dark Matter. Zero is the driving force behind DM, but I never made him, because he would just be a giant waste of clay. DM has the ability to possess people and things, which is the biggest threat he poses. His relative is Miracle Matter, and possibly Dark Nebula.
> Japanese Guru man here again! In this installment, I have a theory that will blow Dark Matter's origin out of the water. Deeply hidden in the lore of Japanese monsters, there is a creature called the "Bakkubea-do" (Backbeard/Bugbear) based on the concept of the Boogieman in the West. Anyway, its traditional appearance is that of an immense, floating black ball with a single eye in the center. This may seem common, but it also has protrusions on its backside, more root/branch-like than the orbs of Dark Matter, but serve the same purpose, as they go after its prey. The Back Beard is said to be the ruler of all Western monsters, in contrast with the Yokai of Japan. As such, it is rumored to be made of the smog from burning fossil fuels. The similarities don't end there; besides being the manifestation of fear, its most prominent trait is its ability to hypnotize people who stare into its eye, not unlike how Dark Matter possesses others. I may just be putting too much thought into it, but you got to admit that the similarities between the two are uncanny. A picture of the Back Beard, for comparison <http://www.toei-anim.co.jp/tv/kitaro/charactor/images/img_backbeard.jpg>

Dedede-Daimyo 3D2137 viewsThis is my first uploaded non-traditional/ computer-made artwork! Made with the 3D modeling program, Milkshape 3D- used to design the fangame, Kirby Cosmic Chaos. The program is free to try, if anyone is interested. The character who is totally taken from the Samurai Kirby minigame, Dedede-Daimyo is my stand-in for online stuffs. His robe-trim is reminiscent of the curtain of the Kabooki theater. His mallot, a kine, is used for pounding rice. Another of my artworks adornes his back.10 commentsDedede-Daimyo
