Looks like you have Circle Syndrome, or as I call it "Sircle Syndrome". Please excuse me, I have no idea bout anything involving how to make 3-D, but it looks like here everything's basically a circle. Once again, I don't really know, but maybe next time you could try for something a little less ovular? I don't know. I still like your artwork, and this still a very good pic. Deserves a 5!
There is something called Metagoop or Metaclay (entirely unrelated to Meta-Knight) which is based on spheres but uses a bunch of parameters to meld the renderings together. Try looking for a feature like this on your 3D software (I know a few popular ones adopted it a decade ago last I checked), and it would be ideal for lazily creating Kirby characters.
Blender has a few meta-shapes like meta ball, meta cube, etc. It's in the Add menu under "Meta." The only problem I see with that approach is that you cannot apply textures by UV unwrapping. I would recommend learning about subsurface modeling and extruding shapes in a subdivided mesh. As for a mouth, you could paint a small dot into Kirby's face texture for Kirby’s usual countenance.
I just found out that the meta shapes can be converted into a normal mesh; and, thus, UV wrapping can apply. Anyway, I don't think this is a bad picture considering these are some of your beginning pictures. Practice and learning more techniques will really help!
