WATCHMEN

Based on character designs from the new movie. Thanks, friends at KRR, for turning me on to this outstanding series. (Characters, clockwise): Jon Osterman/Doctor Manhattan, Walter Kovacs/Rorschach, Edward Blake/The Comedian, Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias, Laurie Juspeczyk/Silk Spectre II, Daniel Dreiberg/Nite Owl II.
"Once you realize what a joke everything is, being the Comedian is the only thing that makes sense". Happy April Fools Day, everybody : )

It is a pity I can't comment anonymously, because most of You will perhaps hate me from now on. First - I am truly disappointed. Second - Dear Dedede-Daimyo, I do not intend to insult or make fun of You or anything. I'm just curious. As far as You have told us, You are an art student (or so I remember You say). Did You intend to make us wonder should we cry or laugh at all the disproportion in this picture? Or did You mean to make them super-deformed, but then, they are still missing basic proportions, anyway.
I am truly sorry if any of You think I am rude. But it's the first time ever I've pushed myself to actually critique a little harder (You barely can name it critique, huh...)

Actually, I think it just got squashed a little bit when it was resized at some point. it if was stretched upwards a tad then I think it'd be fine besides maybe some slight chibi-ing.

'Crow is talking about proportions not realizing that Nite-Owl II is sitting on top of Archie. Yeah, they are supposed to be of cartoony proportion; not every-blutty-thing has to be "super deformed"; comic-styles existed long before Japan decided to do their own spin on American strips, y'know.

AIYA! I have been puttin off returning the comment to this one for TOO long. *Ahem* First of all, I'm sure all the praise before Wond's critique was simply a cruel April Fool's joke. It's obvious that this picture is just about the worst scrawl of horse-vomit ever to disgrace the back-side of the internet. Secondly- I am in true compliance with every word of her thrashing. I will admit that the proportions are way off in many areas. This sickens me, that I have been so careless in the forming of the human physique. I really need to retake my drawing from life classes, and sign up for a course in anatomy, all to keep up with the insurmountably high standards I take on as an artist!!!/LOLfest.
Ok; now for the real-deal. True, the picture is somewhat below the standard I've set for myself in the past, but here is the enlightenment: It's for April Fool's! I have also never drawn anything relating to Watchmen, let alone even have known what the heck it was, before seeing the movie and drawing this pic, so cut me some slack! For anyone who wishes to know, I really can draw people better than this, and believe it or not, I only really draw Kirby stuff for fun (and I have alot of fun!) whereas my main epicenter of art lies in Asian mythology and culture, which is filled with people/ realistic forms/ not puffballs. I actually appriciate Wond's rant, for I feel many others here are afraid to express their true feelings of my work, but wish that she realizes that not everything has to be a certain way/ shape/ form. And I thought the hand-crafted coloring style could save this work of traditional art. For those of you that exclusivly draw on the computer/ have forgotten what it is like to use the traditional arts, let me say that it is alot harder to simply remove what you don't like in the pic, in contrast to digital art, without completely starting over. Though many things are permanent in this world, opinions are always changing. I harbor no resentment.

Wait...didn't somebody kill everyone in NY to end the Cold War in this comic...That's what I get for watching the History special on comics. Oh, yeah, Batman has OCD, apparently.

I despise DC comics...and Disney. Question
