(I wasn't sure whether to put this here or in Miscellaneous Mountain, but I went with here. So hopefully that's right.)

I myself discovered and gained an interest in Kirby via The Subspace Emissary in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Despite how simple that seems, it's actually something of a long story.

Before that, all I remember is knowing Kirby's name and that he was a pink ball, probably because a Nintendo-obsessed friend I had in 2015 must have mentioned him at least once.

I first discovered Kirby when I saw the commercial for Kirby's Dream Land way back when I was younger. It was the very first Kirby game, after all.

Joe: Spill your guts, tubby!
Dedede: Eh, tubby?!
Escargoon: Hey wise guy, this is the king you're talking about! You can't insult him because he's fat! Or because he's a big ignoramous! Or because he's a tightwad- *gets smashed with Dedede's mallet*
~Here Comes the Son

Escargoon: Kitcheeennn!!!! Where's the chow, ya chowderheads?! His highness is hungry up here!
Waddle Doo: But we just served the King a 10-course meal!
Dedede: All of them appetizers was un-appetizin'! Bring me 10 different courses and make it snappy!
Waddle Doo: Right! *he and the Waddle Dees finish the 10 courses and bring the food to Dedede* Hup, two, three, four, we bring the food and he wants more! Five, six, seven, eight, the King had better watch his weight!

My family was getting a Wii for Christmas. My mom showed me a catalog of various Wii games and let me choose one. Kirby’s Epic Yarn had recently released at the time so it was amongst the games you could buy. It stood out compared to the other “boring” games to 7 year old me, and I was familiar with it due to commercials for it playing on TV, so that’s what I chose. I also eventually learned more about Kirby thanks to SSBB and Amazing Mirror. I got Dream Collection in 2012 when it was new, and I think that and my excitement for Triple Deluxe was when my interest in Kirby peaked.

Remind me to put something here later...

Like Kirbyfan103, I've been with Kirby from the beginning. I think I picked up the very first game in Toys 'R' Us because I thought he looked cute and the game looked fun.
