THANKS SEGA THANKS A LOT

I'm fine with the Sonic Heroes styled Special Zones though, if that means they'll be in the console and PC versions. Heroes' special stages were like improved versions of Sonic 2's.

Yeah, like we don't already have enough casino stages. Chemical Plant would've been SO much cooler and classic.


Though I'd like to see a company other than Dimps makes a portable Sonic game for once. The advanced games and Colors were decent enough, but still.

There is no doubt in my mind that this will be an excellent game. I don't see anything wrong with it just yet, and it helps to have gameplay footage to look at to prove that it isn't as glitchy as some of the previous Sonic games. You know what I'm talking about >_>

I'm really surprised Chooch didn't post here!

So it turns out the demo's not just Classic GHZ. There's bunch of stuff hidden away in the demo.

[Reveal] Spoiler: A few non-spoily things
GHZ Modern and both versions of City Escape are hidden away in there. There's rumour that those will unlock after the 20-day period is over.


[Reveal] Spoiler: Full level list
Green Hill Zone (Sonic 1)
Chemical Plant Zone (Sonic 2)
Sky Sanctuary Zone (Sonic 3 & Knuckles)
Speed Highway (Sonic Adventure)
City Escape (Sonic Adventure 2)
Seaside Hill (Sonic Heroes)
Crisis City (Sonic '06)
Rooftop Run - Day (Sonic Unleashed)
Planet Wisp (Sonic Colors)

No Sonic 3 on its own, no CD, no Chaotix, no Shadow, no 3D Blast, no handhelds, no Spinball.


[Reveal] Spoiler: Boss List
The game is divided into three Eras, with each Era having a Rival Boss and normal Boss. Genesis has Metal Sonic and "Death Egg", Dramcast (which includes Heroes) has Shadow and Perfect Chaos, and Modern has Silver and Egg Dragoon. Egg Dragoon is supposedly fought as the Werehog, nd Chaos will presumably be fought asSuper Sonic.

No word on if both Sonics fight all the bosses or anything. I do not know what Death Egg refers to. Could be Sonic 2 Death Egg (Silver Sonic and/or Giant Mech) or S(3)&K's (Big eye thing and/or HUGE mech)


[Reveal] Spoiler: Misc Things
Stages have 5 missions per Sonic. I don't know if the level layouts change.
Some missions appear to be races against other characters
One Mission is "Tails Co-Op"
Elemental Shields are back, alongside a 'normal' shield. No clue if they're in all stages or what.
There's Casino Night DLC, which you get free if you preorder (Possibly only from gamestop). Some sources say it's a pinball minigame, others say it's a full level.

Are all acts confirmed for Green Hill, Chemical plant and Planet wisp? And why did they hide all of this stuff in the demo? Otherwise this looks like a pretty short game on paper. Where did you find all this? (Like, what site?)

Pretty surprising that they included Crisis City in there; I would have figured that even Sega would have tried to forget about Sonic 2006 after it bombed so hard.

Also CHEMICAL PLANT HELL YES GAME OF THE YEAR RIGHT HERE.

A lot of it is files that are part of the levels featured (Like Knuckles) or shared bits that they didn't want to cut up(Like thePower Up icons and Super Sonic(s))

That does seem like a short level list, but knowing how SEGA has dealt with DLC with past games (Unleashed, 2006, and All Stars Racing got quite a bit extra), I'm sure we'll see more games represented.

I sadly realized something about this game everyone's gonna whine about. There's too many retro fans and trolls who're gonna complain that only classic Sonic should've been playable. Just watch, they always look for something to pick at.

Actually most of the complaints have been about the stages chosen to be in the game. IIRC there is at least one person who said they refuse to buy the game because their favorite level(s) aren't in it.

Funny, because my top 4 reasons for buying it are this:

1 - It's Sonic.
2 - I need more 360 games.
3 - FREAKIN CITY ESCAPE
4 - It actually seems like a pretty legit game. Common knowledge says that for everything that exists, there's one person to complain about it. I'm not complaining. This game looks great so far.
