Kirby's Rainbow Resort

There can be no doubt that you are all too familiar with the unfortunate event occurring in the Gulf of Mexico. The oil spill-- well, really, eruption-- has been going strong since April, and efforts to curtail it unfortunately have not been met with much success. Top hat, top kill, nuclear weapons, cutting the pipe-- nothing. Longer-term efforts to stop it are in the works, yes, but the problem with them is that they take too long.

So!

The logical course of action from here is to put together our collective problem-solving skills as a community and come up with solutions ourselves. Should we bomb it? Stuff the pipe with brawny paper towels? Give it a warning point? Have Kirby suck up the oil? There are infinite unexplored possibilities that BP and the United States government have yet to tap!

COME ON WE CAN DO THIS.

Real idea: extend the pipe until it reaches over water level (no welding to do it though...bad idea); a plug that goes around the body of the pipe, instead of just over it

Oh my god this is the best idea. There's a mission in Beautiful Katamari where you roll up a really big katamari made up of planets and other celestial bodies to plug up a black hole. A oil spill is much smaller than a black hole, we can do this.
