I would say it depends ... if you move to run away on a big stage once you have a lead (like on Hyrule Temple), I guess that would be called moving-spamming. Especially if you have a fast character like Sonic.

But for "normal" moving, I don't think that's spamming.

And tripping was put in to add an extra element in the game a good gamer can adapt to (giving the good old cliché response here because I can't think of anything else to say)

I agree, somewhat. I think more than being an @$$hole it's being someone who cares more about winning than having fun, because running away for that long has to be boring as crap.

In other words, it's someone who's lost sight of the entire reason the game became popular.
