Xbox Live hold us the thing you need to play online games, so basically anyone with a 360 has a gold account.

There a reason all of Sonic's levels are from Sonic Heroes? Weird.

Yeah no Xbox love over here either. Going to have to wait. *sigh* Least I can finally get it on the PS3. No more of this short end of the stick with the Wii business!

Then again, besides a bit of graphics and Banjo, is there really going to be any huge difference between the platforms?

So the Sonic the Hedgehog 4 site just updated with a badniks section. So far, only Motobug is there, and it really kind of gets me. Motobug is almost like the Goomba of the Sonic series, only this is probably it's second most significant appearance.

And now, apparently, the Motobug can turn around and chase Sonic, so I guess it's a step just above the Goomba.

GamesMaster said that as hard as it is to believe, the Wii version is just as good as the 360/PS3 one. It looks great, plays well and is just as fun. The only real thing is the online won't be as nice. Which of course, is an issue tied to Nintendo, not the developers themselves.

The PS3 version is actually the main version of the game, but through a series of unfortunate events it's become the definitive version. All thanks to Microsoft related shenanigans and the fact that Sumo Digital couldn't be arsed to put custom soundtracks in the PS3 version even though it is in fact possible.

Heck I am now hearing that there is a chance the Wii version won't even have downloadable content. Great to know the gameplay is the same at least. Less complaints from fans and that regard.

Baww. I would have loved custom soundtracks. 8<

Virtual Console

Sonic & Knuckles
Original platform: SEGA Genesis
Publisher: SEGA
Players: 1
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone)
Price: 800 Wii Points
Description: Sonic, the world's fastest hedgehog, continues his adventures in this fourth installment of the Sonic The Hedgehog™ series. This time, he buddies up with his former enemy, Knuckles the Echidna, in order to defeat the evil Dr. Eggman (a.k.a. Dr. Robotnik). At the end of Sonic The Hedgehog 3, Dr. Eggman's ultimate orbital weapon for global domination, the Death Egg, was badly damaged in an epic battle with Sonic. The Death Egg, losing power rapidly, hurtled back down to the planet below and crash-landed on the mysterious Angel Island again. Now Sonic and Knuckles must put a stop to Dr. Eggman once and for all before Eggman and his no-goodniks find the secret to Angel Island's floating power, the Master Emerald. This game features Lock-On Technology, which allows you to play as Knuckles in other Sonic titles available for the Virtual Console, including Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and Sonic The Hedgehog 3, as long as these titles are part of your Virtual Console library.
Well hey! Anyone who's unfortunate enough to not own Sonic Mega Collection can still play Sonic 3 & Knuckles on the Wii! o Ao b

I'm really surprised they're not charging a fee for that feature.

No-goodniks?

Not that I care one way or the other, I already have two ways to play the original 3.5 games in the series on my wii.

God dangit I was making a huge post of all that leaked footage stuff only to be beaten to it. Oh well, stuff I noticed!

* 4 Zones: Splash Hill, Lost Labyrinth, Casino Street, and Mad Gear. All sounding much like typical levels in a Genesis game.
* The picture of Mad Gear Zone confirms those annoying as hell starfish Badniks appearing (if Mad Gear is Metropolis 2.0 then screw you sega i hated that place)
* The picture of Splash Hill seems to be a sunset. From what we've seen so far, it's been day. Stages changing between Acts confirmed?
* Sonic 4's title screen will incorporate finger wagging. It looks pretty bad and cheaply done, though
* That song SEGA showed a while back is in fact the title screen song
* Special Stages are back
* Each Zone has 3 Acts and a separate boss fight
* Momentum based gameplay is back, although Sonic does seem to be able to accelerate rather fast

Quick tangent for anyone with a DS: the Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing demo is now on the Nintendo Channel, available for DS Download Play. Despite how limited it is, I find it rather fun, and I have played it multiple times. Check it out!

Was going to post the link but with all the threats running around, I guess it is best not too.

LOL to poor Sonic having issues with the loop. (No I am not complaining about it. Just find it funny. It is just the alpha version for crying out loud.)

If a normal person was playing, I'd assume Sonic would've been able to go up that loop and the hill shortly after.

However whoever was playing was clearly a spastic button masher with their thumb pressing jump.

Rewatching the video (at a different site since it seems SEGA stepped in), I still stand by the player being retarded. It looks like there's some sort of homing attack-type special effect, as you can see here

Also something I picked up on, I think this animation is supposed to be based off Sonic's classic run? Hard to tell due to the @$#^ recording. It's at 1:05 if anyone wants to take a look.

The running animation... well, I can't see it well, but it reminds me of Sonic's running in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

I seem to recall people complaining that this really isn't a "return to classic Sonic", but rather another 2D Sonic game like the Rush and Advance series. Now that it's been confirmed that Dimps is making the game, I guess this proves it.

Dimps developing the game doesn't prove jack @$#^. Neither does the game being developed by Sonic Team, BioWare or any other developer. Regardless of how little of the game we've seen, absolutely none of it leans towards it playing like a Rush or Advance game. You might be able get away with saying the original Advance, but Advance 2 or that pile of crap people call Advance 3? Unlikely.

The game looks like an HD revamp of the Genesis titles, and it looks to be just that in the final product. If stupid @$#^ like green eyes, non 16-bit (but absolutely gorgeous 3D) graphics, Dimps, and episodic content put you off that much then kindly take your nonsense elsewhere 'cause I don't want to see it.

I'm not even that excited for the game, just I'm pissed off at people's lack of common sense.

Sorry, I'm just saying what I've heard and how things seem to me. I'm sure the game will be good, but I can understand what some people would be upset.
