Chapter 2: Arnie's Little Brother Vs. The Potty


According to Harmony, Spat's still performing unspeakable acts of evil at Sunny Peak. Though from what I've gathered, his unspeakable acts of evil involve Gossip-P, and maybe littering.

Before Bijou drags me off, I tell her there's one thing I need to do first, and head to the new photo booth in the Clubhouse.


...He's wearing the potty as a hat. Seamore, I am disappoint.


Wh- I- NO! I need to give it back to the guy who lost it!


I'd rather not wear something that small children, you know, pee in. I'd assume you could understand that, but since you were wearing it, I guess not! Now hand it over an--


NO NO NO NO GET IT OFF

...Ugh. I guess we should take it to that guy in Sunny Peak. Bijou, you can carry it. I need to have my hands free for something...

If I ignore Bijou's inappropriate groping and focus solely on how awesome it is that I'm driving a boat, then it's not so bad!


Yeah, yeah, just take it already. The smell's really starting to get to me!


I still don't quite understand why hamsters need training seats. Or toilets in general. Not that I'm complaining!

Well, now that we've got that out of the way, all that's left to do is find Spat.


Or not? Turns out that the Arnie this younger hamster was waiting for is the potty guy, and his older brother.

This is without a doubt the most bizarre conversation I have heard since becoming a hamster.


Finally.


With a pointless twirl and a new Ham-Chat, the two brothers disappear down a tunnel. Since I wasn't able to get in here earlier, I decide to head inside as well. Bijou hesitates to follow- something about getting her ribbons all dirty- but I tell her that we must go if we want to save love for all hamsters, and that got her to shut up and crawl inside.


So there's a tunnel leading further into the cave, a hole that I assume will take us back to the Clubhouse, and a lever! Instinctively I try to pull the lever, but it's too rusted and won't budge. How disappointing.


As we press on, Bijou expresses a concern. I dunno what she's talking about- if we want to leave, all we have to do is go back the way we came.


Heading to the peak sounds cool, mostly because we haven't been there yet.


After an uphill climb through the tunnels, we step into the sunlight. And, uh, there's a tiny, tiny monkey. Bijou, what do you make of this?





OH GOD I'M STUCK WITH THE POTTY KID.


And now he's crying. Amazing how in roughly five seconds your day can go from "mediocre" to "absolutely awful."


Monkey!! Use your monkey magic and shut this kid up!!


Oh. This seems familiar.


That's right, I did this exact thing a few months ago! I hate you, monkey.

I guess I should just keep exploring and try not to lose my sanity to this neverending flood of tears.


Great, the salesham is back too. It's like as soon as I stepped out of the tunnel I entered a world of annoying nonsense.


Are any of those deals "Trade In One Screaming Child, Get Two Items Free?" Because I'd really like that.


Got a lot of good things on sale, stranger!


Bananas, huh... well, maybe if I feed the monkey he'll get rid of the kid.


...Or maybe the monkey will just die after eating rotten bananas! Whatever. I'll take 'em.

You just ruined my Item Get fanfare, and I bought these bananas for you!! UNGRATEFUL BRAT. I'm giving these to the monkey.


Here, eat up! And I'm making potty kid watch you eat them all.

...But of course the kid follows me and whines about how he wants Arnie, where's Arnie, I wanna go home, stop yelling at me, wah wah wah. I just hope he used the potty like he said earlier, otherwise I might have to deal with more than just tears.


Monkey's gone, and a banana peel is lying there. I see where this is going.


*SLIP*


Must.. suppress.. urge.. to.. beat.. child..
But at least he's stopped crying. That'll make things much easier! Maybe his home is beyond the little tunnel the monkey was sitting in front of.


Nope! It's a dead end filled with rocks. I guess some might call it a Rock Tunnel. Heh. Heh heh.


There's also a very conspicuous locked door, but I used all my Small Keys in the last dungeon so I can't get inside. Oh well!

Potty kid starts to say that we need to go down the peak if we want to find his house, but there's one thing I need to do before we go.


Well, so much for Minecart Madness.


Hm... so if I got Arnie's kid brother, then Bijou must be stuck with Arnie. I wonder what they're up to...


Anyway, we make it down to the room I lost Bijou in, and the kid says he knows where to go from here.


He then proceeds to give terrible directions and second-guess himself. Way to inspire confidence, kid!


And yet somehow, after fumbling around in the dark cave for a while, we manage to make it to his house.


Yeah, uh, I already met him. You know the whole potty thing? I'm the one who found it, not Arnie.

...You're not even listening, are you.





...There's nobody here, kid.


..oh no. NO.


NOT AGAIN

SHUT U--oh. That sounded like Arnie.


And, predictably, Bijou is with him. Turns out they've been looking for us the whole time. It also turns out that Bijou can't see things that are only a short distance away from her. I know I'm partially obscured by Arnie, but... still.


Finally, he shuts up!


I wish I could forget about you. Then it'd be like this whole thing never happened.


Aww, that's almost adorable.


Wait, seriously?


But their hearts weren't even broken!!


And besides, they're brothers! They're not ~in love~!


..Or at least, I hope they aren't...


FISTBUMP. This time, Bijou's the one who initiated it. I guess she wants this to be our little victory thing. But I thought she liked getting punched in the face??


And then Arnie completely ignores his brother's attempt at a tearful hug of happiness to ask who we are. Well done, Arnie.


I am SO GLAD I'm done with these two forever.


Yeah, yeah, who cares. Let's get out of here and never come back.
