It is even worth re-creating the existing board themes at this point? Also, yeah, still retired, just not dead. I play XIV these days.

Just a little question... how do you feel knowing that things (mostly) came back almost immediately after you initially “sunsetted” them four years ago?

When I "sunsetted", the underlying .php files and associated stuff was zipped up in case someone else took the reigns. As at the time I thought I was the only one who even remotely cared anymore and didn't want a data breach or worse to happen.

In a way, my thoughts ended up being right, though.

What ended up being right?

Just upgrading to the latest 3.2.x instead of 3.3.x proved to be right

Yeah, I know. Also, you did a really bad job of going back to your retirement home.

These phpBB upgrades, as you may remember, require you to upgrade in steps. I couldn't even upgrade to 3.3 and have it work.

php incompatibility, or did something else break?

I'm not sure what the problem was, and I didn't have enough time to investigate further.

I just know I was able to get 3.2 to work-ish, and then eventually work, so I'll just use that as a starting point at a later date to get 3.3 working.
