I tried making a gallery account, but I didn't receive a conformation email. I tried using the resend option, checking the spam folder, and even made a second account with a second email, and couldn't get the e-mail.

Same here. However, I didn't need it in order to log in.

Another bug with the gallery: You can't register with a period in the first part of the email address, but you can change the email to one with period there afterwards.

You had two accounts in the Gallery.

They accounts were registered fine. You just had too little patience for someone to ack them, which at this point (and, really, for all time) is just me.

It seems like KRR had a meme for Patience.

In all fairness, a lot of sites send automated messages. In hindsight, this seems kind of obvious, but whatever. I think there should be a "wait a few days for a moderator to send you a confirmation email", because while it might have worked like that back in the day, at this point it's a fair assumption for these things to be automated.

I didn't make Coppermine. I can't control when it sends the emails.

As far as I remember, it used to send emails on sign-up, not confirmation. Why the maintainers of it changed that functionality I do not know. I certainly have never designed any software of mine to behave like that, but I am certainly not forking Coppermine to alter this one minor inconvenience.

Patience is a much simpler solution.
