Hello, KRR staff.

I would like to report that I recieve no confirmation email after I click on the command to send/resend it. I am absolutely sure that I entered correct email addresses. This has happened to both emails that I used.

Tested on:

Device: iPad Air 2

Browser: Mobile Safari 9 (iOS 9.3)

Lulz, "KRR staff." That's a long-winded title for "only that one dude."


The device is irrelevant; mail is a server-side operation.

The mail, as far as I can tell, was actually getting sent out. Setting the "from" email addy to my own seemed to stop it dead, however. That did not used to be the case.

I've switched the Passport emails to use a dummy @kirbysrainbowresort.net address instead, and they are getting received by everything I checked. Should probably stick a Reply-to in there so that people don't just have their replies fall on dead ears.

Thank you for resolving this issue. Do you think that there should eventually be a new set of staff to replace old, inactive staff members? Most of them haven't logged on in a long time.

I kinda thought that new staff was going to replace the old during my last go, and look how that turned out.
Fun fact! Back when I was designing the Passport system, I only ever had plans to make two updates with it: Announcing the Passport system and announcing my retirement from RR. I naively thought that enough of a staffer influx would have happened for that scenario. (Really, go back and look at the Cutenews archives; I was forcing Bimblesnaff to post the new Mailbags, even tho' he stopped making them because he was confused by the generator, just so I wouldn't have any updates to my name.) Of course, the Passport was also rushed out due to Gamespy evicting RR.

However, the lack of replacements was really endemic of the Old Guard. KRR did a pretty good job of rotating a fresh set of faces until those guys came around, and then things pretty much stuck with them for years on end. And any fresh faces were either immediately assimilated or futile-resistance'd. (Guess which one I was~!)
