I'm sorry, but is it possible to create a censor on here? I'm sick of having to see a lot of swear words everywhere, I mean is it possible to block the s-word, the f-word, and the b-word?

I mean this is the Kirby Forum, Kirby is safe for kids, so can we make the Kirby Forum safe for kids?

There's already a censor. Go to the control panel, and it's in Edit Display Options under the board preferences. Just check Yes for the enable word censors bit.

I have that censor on, it's almost useless.

I just turned it on and tried it out for a bit. Not only does it censor all three words you mentioned, but it even censors them if they are a part of a compound word. I dunno how it could be called almost useless unless those cussing are just really bad spellers.

EDIT: unless you're talking about images having those words in them, in which case I think the usual courtesy is to have a swear word inside the image address so that the forum will censor it and it won't show up. Not everyone has the means to do that, however.

Best way to test it is to go like you're going to reply to a thread, type in some of the offending words, then hit the preview button.

If they show up as a collection of symbols, then it's working for you.

IMO it'd be nice if swearing was a little more widely discouraged on this kirby forum.

Kirby is a franchise marketed towards kids, after all. The unfortunate part is some younger members seem to think they are being cool and mature by using the f-word five times per sentence, and I just have to roll my eyes. It ruins the atmosphere; I liked it better when swearing was disallowed on the forums.

We might get more younger members to join if we at least upgrade the swear filter and turn it on by default (is it turned on by default already? This is an old account).

Well to be fair I'm using and old account, too, and I can't recall if I vanished before you or not. Maybe I'm working off even more outdated stuff than you!

It was off for me by default, but then again this account is ancient. Tried switching it on, and it didn't work.

Exactly. And while people "with the coding" are hard to find around here, people "with the coding who care" are nonexistant. I wish Diskmaster was still here. That, or the two Goblin blobs could get their asses up. Apparently, their coding skills, if this requires any of them at all, would be sufficient.
