And here it is!

Last time we left THIEF at the entrance of the Key Cavern... pondering the name of it. Key Cavern? Oh, just you wait, THIEF. You'll see. Everyone will see.

Image
The moment THIEF steps forward, the door slams shut... Luckily, there's another passage to the right! Go there, THIEF!

Image
Ugh. Remember this thing from back in... Dungeon 2? The one there would suck THIEF in. This one is the opposite, blowing him towards the door with a force too strong for THIEF to break thorough. Frustrated, THIEF goes back, and attempts to fix things the way it worked back in the castle.

Image
BUST @$#^ UP

Image
Those bomb enemies run around the room really fast when you hit them then explode after a while...

Image
And the explosions can kill other enemies! That first bomb killed everything but the other bomb.

Image
The chest had a key in it, I think. I forgot to screenshot when i was actually opening it.

Image
The first group of these wormlike guys. There will be a lot of them in this chaper.

Image
And there was another one in the chest. Monsters don't belong in chests. Ever! This is my biggest gaming pet peeve.

Image
Further up, some skeletons, who, when killed, give nothing, but that one spot there by the wall looks suspicious...

Image

Good idea, THIEF, but nothing.

Image
The chest is blocked... Downstairs, I guess.

Image
See? I told you there'd be a lot of those guys in h

Image
HELL YEAH

Image
Let's go left first.

Image
I have no idea what these greasy !@#$% are supposed to be, but they are also all over the place in this dungeon... And annoying to kill.

Image
You see, they teleport when THIEF gets near. So you have to beat them to their other teleport point (they always go to the same places).

Image
Now let's try north/up/whatever you wanna call it.

Image
There were more enemies here, but THIEF killed them for a key. Also he hit that switch on the right.

Image
Right, now.

Image
There was another one of those guys i dubbed greasy !@#$% in here, and he dropped this.
Hey, didn't we just hit a switch? Those things make the blocks move. Let's go back upstairs real quick.

Image
Stone beak. Not anything useful. May as well stick it in that owl statue from the north room downstairs.

ImageImage
'Kay.
Let's go back in the conveyor belt room where THIEF got the Piece of Power.

Image
And down the stairs...
A lot more worms were in here and THIEF got another key.

Image
Further up a bit, there's an owl statue... and a whole lotta tiles on the floor. Let's see if Mr. Owl has any choice wisdom for THIEF (He doesn't know how many licks it REALLY takes to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop.)

ImageImage
Hmm.

Image
Hm...

Image
Oh you rascal, THIEF!

Image
Nothing here but a big ol' hole... THIEF decides to go up past the owl statue.

Image
These bombs are different than the ones before in that they chase you after you hit them. So you have to keep swatting them away before they blow up after a 3 second countdown.

Image
GR8

ImageImage
To the left of Mr. Owl's room... Pink worm guys (the ones that split into the smaller ones that stick to you when you hit them). The first one dropped a Piece of Power!

Image
To the left of there, more of these greasy !@#$%.

Image
I'm beginning to understand why they call this the Key Cavern.

Image
Through the rotating wall... not much.

ImageImageImage
THIEF's dinner parties are the worst.

Image
Here's that chest from before.

Image
Walking around, THIEF (and me in real life, actually) notices we missed a room. Oops.

Image
Back in the compass room.

Image
These bombs actually end up killing THIEF. Luckily, we bought that potion from Crazy Tracy, so we get to live today.

Image
Oh look another key :|

Image
These must be the black monsters Mr. Owl was referring to.

Image
DO YOU SMELL WHAT THIEF IS COOKING

Image
Obesity is not funny so i'm not gonna make a joke here

Image
THIEF'S DINNER PARTIES SUCK
DON'T GO IF YOU'RE INVITED

THIEF wipes the blood off his boots, or at least, tries to...

Image
Oh hey new boots!

Image
3, 2, 1...

Image
BLASTOFF! THIEF is used to running into walls so he doesn't mind it.
Time to backtrack a bit since we have the Pegasus boots now.

Image
This is actually a room in the beginning corridor I forgot to go to. I could have done it right after we picked up the stone beak.

Image
Eh.

Image
Now to go up this side.

Image
There was a mini-pink-worm enemy there before, remember? Now that both it and the skeletons are gone, the treasure appeared!

Image
HOLY @$#^ BIG BUCKS
Now back to the entrance.

Image
Guess what, $%@hole?

Image
HAAAAAAAAAA

Image
oh wow another key who'd have thought

Image
This is the south room of the four-way intersection part. Coming in here was really unneccessary, because you spend a key to get in to get a...

Image
Yep, another small key.

Image
Another underground section, right after the black monsters' room. It involved using like 4 keys in a row.
And this guy won't move... THIEF is getting frustrated.

Image
BAM TAKE THAT YOU BUTT
... Hitting his head so hard on that stone creature... THIEF has an inspiration! Back upstairs, quick!

Image
Ready, THIEF?

Image
Guess not. Try again.

Image
SCIENCE !@#$% YES! MORE FORCE EQUALS MORE DISTANCE

Image
Important.

Image
HRAAAAAHH MOVE YOU FATTY

Image
Upstairs, we encounter more of these greasy !@#$%.

Image
And beyond them.... Another conveyor belt room...... and another small key. But isn't that the last door, RIGHT THERE?
... And now you know why it's called the Key Cavern, THIEF. You too, members of KRR.

Image
Gulp.

ImageImage
@$#^. He's right.

Image
Unless he's one of those things. THIEF spends about 20 minutes just killing those as they keep falling from the CEILING.
...

Get the hint, THIEF?

...

The CEILING?
...

Frustrated, THIEF charges into a wall again, hoping it will give him another insight to this problem.

Image
..

Image
Finally, you got it. There's the boss. A big gelatinous eyeball.

Which, with enough hacking and slashing, becomes...

Image
TWO gelatinous eyeballs. This is actually a really boring boss fight.

Image
You just run from them and also whack them with your sword.

ImageImage
One's down.

Image
And there goes the other.

Image
Image
Image
Image
NOOOOOO

Image
Image

Image

And we're back outside again.

Next time, THIEF visits the desert! I know it just said waterfall, but seriously!

I'm probably gonna go hunt for a bunch of powerups now. I won't cover it, but it wouldn't be very interesting anyways. Probably just a few Heart Pieces and maybe the ocarina.

See you next time!

But.... ...the ocarina part is one of the best! I mean. He just somehow GETS it. It's never fully explained how the freakin' thing materializes out of his SPOILER.

So yeah. ....Manbo's Mambo?

Didn't think about that until later. Oh well.

Also, Yami, I will take your input into consideration, as well as anyone else's, if they have anything specific they want to see... Not that I can think of anything, but maybe someone else is. I'll also answer any questions any has, whether they be about THIEF or the actual game.

This is a bit of a random question, but if ya name the guy "THIEF" does it default to not letting you get the special ending? I know that you stole n stuff so you can't get it, buuut... ...just wondering, =D

Oh. Um.. I forgot if the thing with the ghost was a sidequest or not, but... if it is, could you do that at some point? I liked that little ghost friend.

Also do something involving all the photographs !!

Ghost friend is part of the main quest. Photographs will start when I get to whatever point I can start doing photographs. I can't remember when it is but I think it's coming up.

THIEF told me to give this to you guys.

Quote:
Image
Good evening. This is THIEF. I write to you all with the assistance of my friend, Mr. Write, not the one you all know and seem to love, but this homebody fellow here, who lives alone with his pet bird, writing letters day in and day out... with no replies, apparently. I chose to keep this man company for a while in exchange for some stationery and ink.

Over the past day or so I've kept busy after retrieving the Sea Lily's Bell from the Key Cavern.

First, I went to hunt for some treasure...
ImageImageImageImage
Secret Seashells...

ImageImageImageImage
Rupees...

Image
A piece of heart, which completed another full heart...

Image
I also bought another potion from Tracy.

Image
I stopped by this camera shop.

ImageImageImage
This fellow decided he wanted to take my picture.

ImageImageImageImage
He even gave me my own photo album! I did give it a look.

Image
Not the worst photo I've ever taken... But wait, there's actually another in this album already...?

Image
...No one was supposed to see that..

After getting my photo taken, I decided to do some sightseeing.

Image
This is the Wind Fish's Egg, which everyone always seems to be talking about. Anyways, I'm sure you're tired of that, so I'll move on...

Image
Image
I then went to explore a ruins I found... Inside was a big monster. He was challenging, but I beat him.

Image
He dropped this key, which, as of yet, I have no idea what it does.

Image
Further back, I found this mural. The writing says:

ImageImageImageImage
ImageImageImageImage

Very mysterious. I decided to head back to Mabe Village to do some research.

Image
But first, I wanted to restock my bombs, because my spelunking made my supply run dry.

Image

Image
Image
Image
It didn't go so well.

ImageImage
I don't steal anymore. Money's not really an issue.

Image
I got distracted again on my way to the library, by this odd building here.

Image
Inside was just a single bed.

Image
I was tired, so I decided to rest on it.

Image
I found myself being swept away into a dream world...

Image
Literally.

ImageImageImageImage
I dashed around a bit.

Image
Deeper in, I found this ocarina.

Image
I then awoke in the hut, carrying the items I had found in my dream.

ImageImageImageImageImageImage
Marin was impressed with my ocarina. She sang, and I played. It came to me naturally, and I don't know how... I remembered this song for later. It's called "The Ballad of the Wind Fish".

I should really get moving on with this letter. Anyways, I went to the library, and one book stuck out in particular to me...

Image
That one on the top shelf. I knocked it down...

ImageImageImage
Interesting... I decided to search out this world of color.

On my way, I met Tarin.

Image
We never got along too well...

But he wanted to borrow the stick I was carrying. I let him.

ImageImageImage
He got chased off... And I got a honeycomb.

Image
Which I traded to this bear for a pineapple. He lives in the Animal village, beyond which lies the desert where the Owl last told me I should go... But a big sleeping walrus is in the way, and won't move unless he hears singing... For now, I wish to find the world of color before anything else. So I went to the graveyard, found the five graves, and followed the instructions, and...

Image
Came across this place, where these two skeletons asked what color cloth they were wearing before letting me in... Is this the World of Color?

ImageImageImage
It may be... I took the compass and trudged on.

Image
Bouncing across these colorful tiles, I have come to the conclusion that this is, indeed, the world of color.

Image
Many of the puzzles within these walls pertained to color...

Image
The enemies, too.

ImageImageImageImage
Even the larger enemies were odd, here... This one was completely invulnerable to my sword,

Image
And could only be harmed by Magic Powder.

Image
This golem, too, was unharmed by my sword, but only bombs.

ImageImage
This boss enemy warned me about colors beforehand... But all it took to defeat him,

Image
was to strike quickly and fiercely.

ImageImageImage ImageImageImage
The Fairy Queen was in the next room, and this brings me to the reason I wrote to you all:

I cannot decide which color to choose, so I am leaving it up to you. Please tell my reporter which color you wish me to choose.

Sincerely,
THIEF

P.S.
I don't really know my reporter very well. He claimed he wanted to watch my journey and turn my adventures into a story, which, as I understand, you all read. Please note that I have read the stories too, and my reporter unfortunately does not accurately represent me. So please, don't make judgements on me based on what he writes.

What? I have never posted in this thread before? Uncool, I've been reading it since the start, and never commented?

For the current matter, I choose the blue tunic. Being able to kill monsters faster doesn't mean you can't get hit by them anymore.

Blue's just cooler than red man.

Plus, the best offense is a kick-ass defense.

I don't really see the advantages in being cautious and in danger as opposed to being safe. So I say blue.

Yami, don't forget the benfits of having a kick-ass offense as a defense.
